Congrats to everyone – the admin, the winners, the participants and the voting members for this amazing contest. Without all of you there will be no forum, no contest and no fun of the intense discuss about little beasts made of plastic. I love to be here and look with joy to the coming contests with new wonderful dioramas.

By the way I'm surprised who is also using photoshop. Not every improvement is directly visible.
And I hope to get a insight of 'Starving in North Africa' (No. 17). How comes this fantastic Willis O'Brian-touch into work?

I have to confess I'm a little tired by the use of Papo dinos. I know they look realistic, great details and everything, even though they are not quite accurate but...  too much is too much!
Don't get me wrong I do like my Paposaurs

I have to say the exact same thing. I love Papo dinos, but recent contests seems like a thread dedicated to Papo dinos. Remember, realism or great detail in a figure doesn't necessarily make a winner. If that's so, you can just used Sideshow pieces and the victory is certain.

Gwangi

I can't complain about Papo, I used Papo models for my entry. It just came out that way, I took a lot of models into the field with me. It was a dark day and the ones that photographed the best were Papo. Last year I used Safari and Kaiyodo and the year before I used Safari and CollectA.

Mine was No.9 if anyone didn't guess..lol  Think of this pic as a prequel to the scene in the Park :

Took her all afternoon/night to catch that thing! lol

Congrats to the winners!

How long did you need to make that giant ? The biggest figure of the contest :D

Maybe we need categories like scratch built, photoshop, found locations etc but that is easy for me to say since it is Dr Admin doing all the work. In the absence of categories maybe a short description from the entrant could accompany the image i.e. "scratch built figures with miniature foreground" or "purchased figure shot against found location"
Great work everyone

More category, means more prizes   :P

Walking With Monsers:
[about Lystrosaurus] Astonishingly, their vast herds make up more than half of all life on Earth. Never again will a single species do so well.

Walking With Monsters: (Hynerpeton) To avoid injury the males demonstrate their strength  in a strange  push up contest.

Federreptil

I think the models of papo are here so often the protagonists because they are so cinematic. Most of them are the best Jurassic Park merchandise you ever can wish. See at No. 47 'Unfortunate showdown' how well the T-rex fits in this scene. They are impressive and very dramatic in their movements. This could make good shots - also as blurred silhouettes like in my last year entry 'three angry chicks at work'. So it should not be fundamental decision to work with or without papo dinos. Sometimes it´s the right stuff and sometimes you need a favorite one or a battat or something else. Or all of them like this year in the horn horde to get a richer herd.

What a great contest this year, thanks everyone for participating and a big congratulations to all the winners!
I voted for # 10, 20, 29, 30, 32, 41, 46, and 57 :D

As for my submission for this year, I did # 58 breakfast at Tiffany ;) Thanks for those who voted for mine.

Hello everyone  :))

This is my firts post on this great forum, and it's three years I read the reviews on the blog.

Congratulations to the winners and to all who took part to this competition.

I am the author of the diorama #17, "Starving in North Africa". By the way, I would like to thank those who liked it, like Simon and federreptil (unfortunately it gathered only few votes).

Soon I'll tell how I made it.

May I ask what brand of model you used for the pterosaur that they're fighting over? I'm just curious. Thanks :)

I was actually extremely surprised your diorama wasn't in the top three. It and "Migration" were my absolute favorites.

Welcome to the site. I loved your entry, it got my vote. I am surprised it didn't get more.

Aram-Rex

Yeah, ''Migration'' was one of my favourites. Wonderfull work.

Congratulations to the winners, and thanks to everyone who made a contribution for us to enjoy. :)

My entry is #57, Fearsome tyrant's pass. Thank you everyone who voted for it. The models are my handmade figures, representing Gorgosaurus libratus and Lambeosaurus lambei. I imagined this scene as a narrow part of the landscape, where the Gorgosaurus would hunt animals passing through to get to a water source. My previous dioramas were peaceful, so I wanted to try something with more drama. It was hard to choose this particular image over options I liked as much (that showed the models better), but I went with the ravine-like background and dinosaurs moving towards the camera.

I'll comment again with thoughts I want to share about other entries.

I love this blog. Just never know what to say to jump in on these topics.

Glad to have broken 10 votes. Mine was #29 between a rock and a hard place.

Dear tyrantqueen,

I used nothing but a printed image of an Alanqa saharica, a pterosaur that coexisted with Carcharodontosaurus and Spinosaurus. The crocodilian in the shallow water is a Sarchosuchus imperator.

I paid attention to the scientifical accuracy of my diorama, and so I did when I voted for the poll. It was one of my two criteria of vote (the other is the quality of the photo: lighting, composition, and so on).

Really glad you liked it, Manatee. To be honest, I would expect a much better result, given my effort in shooting a diorama that could made the joy of every passionate.
