Looks like some interesting books. I only own Dinosaurs of Australia and New Zealand. I wonder what Quest for African The Dinosaurs and Dinosaurs in the Attic are like.

Wow, if this is just one haul from just one sale, I really want this kind of booksale here in Germany, too! I like your new book acquisitions very much!

It's a big sale, one of the largest in the country so I've been told. Goes on for three weeks. There are always a good number of dinosaur books but a lot of them are dated or I already have them. I'm very choosy but in total I brought home 22 books, most about animals of one sort or another.

TQ, the overall tone of "Quest for the African Dinosaurs" seems similar to that of "Time Traveler" (don't know if you've read that one but you should) in that it is less about dinosaurs and more about this man's experience in the field discovering these animals. I obviously haven't read it yet though.
"Dinosaurs in the Attic" look very good, it is basically about the history of "The American Museum of Natural History" and the people that made it what it is today.

Also forgot to add this one which I got back in December.

Oh, I'll probably skip it then. But thanks for the info :)

Latest haul from the local book sale. Got a lot of really cool paleo books this time! Paid less than $5 each for these books!

No dust jacket for this one but it's "Prehistoric Animals" by by Joseph Augusta and Zdenek Burian. Basically an art book of Burian's work. Don't normally go for older books but I had to have this one and I love it!

I love the look on that "Prehistoric Animals" by by Joseph Augusta and Zdenek Burian.  Nice find.

It's not what I thought it would be like but it's an interesting book. The majority of the book is dedicated to presenting dioramas of particular times and places and key fossil sites throughout prehistory. Starting from the beginning of life to the end of the ice age. Plants and animals are all numbered and their names are displayed below the diorama image along with a brief blurb about the time and place. Not bad, especially if you want an idea of who lived with who and when. The artwork isn't great though, but tolerable. This book would be amazing if some big name paleo artists were involved. I'll post some examples if you wish, when I get the time.

Burian's work is some of my favorite old school stuff. I particularly like his prehistoric landscapes depicting plant life of the Mesozoic, Carboniferious, Permian etc. and his Cenozoic stuff is pretty good too! He normally places second fiddle to Charles Knight but he was a great artist too. It appears the cheapest the book goes for on Amazon is about $25 so I feel like I got lucky on this one, on all of them honestly!

Usually I just glance over the children section at my local book sale, just checking to see if there are some misplaced books for adults (there sometimes are) but something compelled me to grab a few this time around. Maybe it's because I have a daughter on the way. Man, she better like dinosaurs!

Oops, forgot to take a picture of this one.

Gwangi, your collection is very impressive. Your tomes on dinosaurs alone rival that of my university library! I've referred to your posts to help me find new books to add to my own home collection. From what you've mentioned in this thread and others is that you have more books besides paleontology-based ones, and I'm curious if you're planning to post on those ones as well?

Thanks! I take that as a great compliment and yes, the paleontology books only scratch the surface of my book collection. Seeing as how you're the second person to request it I guess I will add my other books too. It will be a process for sure!

Some books I got in a trade with HD-man awhile back. Forgot to post them.

Ceresiosaurus

October 10th is the first day of the three weekend sale. And I'll be there. Make sure to resend your list as I accidentally deleted it. I'll be posting that date in the other thread I started for it in early September.
