Thank you  ;D
Be sure to check out their "retired other" section. They have, and in some cases brand new in bag, retired Schleich Dinosaurs, that don't turn up often, as well as the first run of Carnegie.
In the end it was not guns or bombs that defeated the aliens, but that humblest of all God's creatures... the Tyrannosaurus rex.

Is this the battat tyrannosaurus that the poll means ?

Yes, it is.

There's a figure in third place that hasn't been released yet an nobody has ever seen it in reality.
??? I think this is strange.

Anyone who hasn't voted yet? There are a few ties that could do with resolving before I create the winners video...

Shall I remove it? I can add it back in when it is actually released...

My thoughts on this include what I said about it earlier in this thread:

I'm not sure it's a good idea to include unreleased figures, as the final product is always at least a little different from pre-release pictures of it.  In this case, the CollectA 2015 Tyrannosaurus can only be seen from one angle of one pre-release picture which doesn't look like it has the articulated jaw yet.  It's not known how well it will stand and it wouldn't surprise me if something gets added to its feet to help it stand - CollectA has had problems in this area.  If any unreleased figure is included with released figures in a popularity poll I doubt the results will ever end up being completely accurate.
I've bolded the last sentance as I really think this is the case.  I don't think an unreleased figure should be in a top released figures poll or video, so I think whether it should be removed until it's released depends on whether people want this poll to be for released figures only.  I don't think the 2015 CollectA Tyrannosaurus should go in the video you're planning to make though, if you make it before it's released.

Well I'm making the video now. So, I will remove it from the poll. I'll add it again when it is released. If it changes the results in the future I will create a new top ten next year :)

Edit - removed it.

A new top ten next year should be easier anyway, we already know what models to eliminate from a future poll.

I meant new top ten video based on this poll, not an entirely new poll. :)

Oh I see!  :)

You could always make the CollectA model an "honorable mention" in the video.

suspsy

I second the suggestion for making the Feathered T. Rex an honourable mention. That sounds reasonable and appropriate to me.

And I have to say again, I honestly fail to see what makes the Battat model more popular than say, the 2014 Carnegie one.

The head is nice on the new Carnegie piece..but the overall body could have used a little more work. The size also makes it the smallest Rex so far.  The Battat has a nice overall size, detail is consistent, good pose too.

Now in a general poll of kids/adults that like dinosaur toys I would probably expect the Carnegie to do much better..it has a more wide distribution, thus popularity.  That's one problem with these sort of polls. Not everyone has every figure to sit and compare/contrast with them.

Gwangi

The 2014 Carnegie does have a nice head sculpt, I'll give it that much. But it is also in the tired old tripod pose that many of us are very tired of seeing. I realize others don't have a problem with it but it would seem the majority feels otherwise. Also, the paint application seems particularly bad.

The Battat really only suffers from age. It's an older model and is thus plagued by the limitations that all models from that era were plagued by. Despite this it is still a very well made and accurate model. And it's an actual biped! That helps too. But you certainly have to take it's age into account, it's all in context. The Carnegie 2014 is a pretty mediocre model when you consider that it's the 25th anniversary release and a model from 2014.

I was unable to vote. Sentimentality plays a role, as well as accuracy, detail, color, etc.

Quoting what I said earlier in this thread...

I like the Battat Tyrannosaurus best.  It looks very good and it's very accurate and detailed.  I recently found the one I had when I was a child (it's a version 3 one) and it's extremely durable (it's made of quite hard plastic)!  I played with it a lot as a child, but none of it has broken off, it's still got all it's arms, claws and individually sculpted teeth.  The individually sculpted teeth and superior poses of the Battat T. rexes and the 1999 Carnegie T. rex make me consider them better than the 2014 Carnegie T. rex whose teeth are joined together.  Several of the review pages on the Dino Toy Blog (e.g. the 2014 Carnegie Tyrannosaurus, 2012 WS Ceratosaurus, WS Acrocanthosaurus) mention the tail bases of these figures lack a big caudofemoralis muscle they should have.  The Battat Tyrannosaurus however has a large caudofemoralis, and it's from the 1990s!  In my opinion a lot of the Battat dinosaurs are still the best representation of that species ever produced, the Tyrannosaurus is one of them.
Even if I didn't have it when I was a kid, I would still really like the Battat Tyrannosaurus.  It's very well made and, like a lot of the other Battat dinosaurs, I find it's still as good if not better than the dinosaur toys made up till today.  I can't stand the tripod pose of the 2014 Carnegie Tyrannosaurus.  I don't like it's teeth or colour scheme either.  I can see why the Battat Tyrannosaurus is popular, it's accurate and well researched, well made and looks good.  I'm sad that the original Favorite Tyrannosaurus didn't make it into the top 10.

DinoToyForum

Please see my request for good pics of the Battat T. rex: http://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=2455.msg85394#msg85394 I'd like to include the pics in the winners video. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Will Battat be rereleasing the Tyrannosaurus? If so will it be in new colors. I like the sculpt but hate the paint scheme on it.

Dan LoRusso has said Battat will be rereleasing all 18 dinosaurs from the original Battat line and each will have a new colour scheme.  I'm really looking forward to it!  I quite like some of the colour schemes on the originals, so I'm hoping I'll like the new ones just as much, if not more!  There are some colour schemes on the originals I don't like so I'm hoping for nicer colour schemes for them.
