Anyone else wondering what may be going on with this company?  They made a major announcement for the 1/35 line, and nothing.  Their FB posts have been customer photos for some time.  Now I noticed that BBTS seems to have dropped three of their products, including the Ceratosaurus, and have been lowering the prices on others.  Almost as if they are trying to clear them out.

well companies do fail.. it's possible i suppose.

Silvanusaurus

I wouldn't be surprised in the least if none of those herbivores they announced ever see the light of day.

Rebor doesn't operate with typical business sensibilities in mind. It's like Clover the Stegosaurus... it's named for St. Patrick's Day, which is coming very soon, and there's not as much as a color photo nor a preorder up. They did show photos of the Carnotaurus after it broke so that seemingly delayed that. But yeah, other than that it's been dead quiet from them.

i hope REBOR is just on hiatus and will be back asap.

REBOR products used to sell out all the time on BBTS. If that is the case, it's a rather successful fail.
Perhaps, they miscalculated the profit margin?

Derek.McManus

Well if Rebor are going to fail then it might be time for the canny investor to buy up some of their products before they become super rare and expensive, the bounce following the crash so to speak!

Perhaps, PNSO had an impact on REBOR...

I was really looking forward to:

Mosasaurus
Quetzalcoatlus set
Brachiosaurus
Ankylosaurus
Stegosaurus
Triceratops
Saurophaganax
Carnotaurus
Dunkleosteus

Y-rex (winter variant)
Ceratopsian set
Psittacosaurus set
Velociraptor ("Spring Heeled Jack")
T-rex fetus in jar
Stegosaurus ("Clover")
Queen T-rex (unconfirmed)
Tenontosaurus, standing (unconfirmed)

Wow..they really announced a lot of pieces...not sure when if ever i expected to see them though.

Maybe Rebor an into an issue with Universal making that last JP Raptor..granted other companies make similar items but they pretty much said it was a Jurassic Park piece.  Chronicle Collectibles has the JP collectibles license too and they almost assuredly didn't like it.

They probably didn't like it, per se, but Chronicle's agreement with Universal is that all of their products cost $200 and up. A $30 raptor probably isn't a big deal to them since that's a totally different market. Either way, Rebor is kind of flying a little too close to the sun when they make straight up JP dinosaurs and call them names like Stan and Winston.

I doubt that Universal would be bothered to take such a small outfit as Rebor to court over copyright but I'm no expert and really don't know enough to make a definitive statement. I suspect that Rebor is / was a tiny almost cottage style industry after all the actual production is done in China with only the design and master sculpt done locally, they don't even sell directly to the public so the slightest issue like an illness or injury could have an out of proportion impact.

As long as REBOR doesn't include the JP logo anywhere on their products, I think they're safe.

If they were based out of Asia they might be ok, but being based in the U.K. ( if I'm remembering that right?) could be a problem since they are shooting JW2 there..prob easier to enforce copyright laws than in Asia.  It may be they simply were issued a warning or a cease and desist of those products if this happened at all,  that could be to just stop and JP related product ( according to Universal's definition) or to just stop all together while they are being checked out.   Our Park logo is very close to the JP one at first glance, but if you look closely we changed the overall look with the BT rock on top, the skeleton is an Allosaurus, the colors are altered slightly and even the trees at the bottom are pine trees instead of palm trees.  It's a near thing by the look but it's different.

Not saying this is what's going on just an idea.

Rebor are based in the United Kingdom in London I believe.

False alarm guys  ;)

According to REBOR Facebook Page:

Lol oh no we are doing super well right now thanks for asking ;) , it just we can't show you guys any new teases before revealing the official photos of the Crimson King otherwise we'll break our own tradition!

Sigh...some people just wish us nothing but the worst, can't let them win can we

Additionally, the REBOR representative mentioned that the Carnotaurus is "awesomebro to the core". In other words, it is intentional, whether be it for the sake of aesthetics, marketing or some other personal preference.

Shadowknight1

While I like my Deinonychus trio, I will continue to say that REBOR's strengths are in the big, mean, scaly beasts.  That's why I love the Acro.
I'm excited for REBOR's Acro!  Can't ya tell?

Gosh I wonder who Rebor is talking about?

I know right? All I heard were people inquiring about what is going on. No wishing or hoping....  >:(

Guess we can thank our own Derek McManus for that. What a nice guy.

Since according to you everyone deserves a fair crack at the whip show us where anyone said REBOR was being sued by Universal. All people where wondering is why REBOR went so quiet and wondered why and Blade wondered IF that may have happened. But as you say you like to wind up the haters. Why not take a page from your own book and treat people respectfully and not exaggerate or flat out lie about what is being said. If you are in your mid-40's then act like it.

I don't think it was that bad...
It's just theatrics (it's a bit sensationalist but so is WWE)
I really don't see any reason to get offended by REBOR this time around.

I am still very much puzzled by their so-called release schedule..
whatever happened to the Mosasaurus --I remember REBOR was super excited about making one around the time JW was released. It was supposed to be a priority project (unless, they got it mixed up with the Oddities line wall mount). Also, is winter variant Y-rex still coming out...or the demand for that model is not quite there. Bring out the herbivores!
