Correct, it is illogical to assign values such as "good" and "evil" to animals, plants, fungi, bacteria, virus, etc...  I read that someone wrote that hyenas are vicious, evil vermin that should be exterminated because they most often consume their prey while alive. They are just doing what they have to do.

They are just doing what they have to do.

There's only one animal that assigns moral judgement to the actions of itself and other living things.

And most dogs also start eating while the animal is alive--it's a consequence of not having the best killing tools (compared to weasels or cats, for example).
