Robin I am convinced that your next dimetrodon figures among others will be those of Safari and Collecta.  ;)

For sure I'll buy ALL new Safari and Collecta (not only Dimetrodon)  ;)

Awesome Dimetrodons! It's really a creature that's hard to do injustice considering the many great Dimetrodon figures in this thread alone.

..well, I really don't know...
Today all Dimetrodon on the market have a strong reptilian-look but (as we all know) it was an early synapsid (more close to mammals than reptiles).
On the web you can find new reconstructions with a strong mammalian look, like this:

Probably that's too much..  ::)

But I'd like to see a Dimetrodon like these:

It would be awesome..  ^-^

Archinto

Awesome dimetrodons! You should add the original tyco dimetrodon to your pack. The original figure from dino riders has a darker very matte green shading and hues than the later smithsonian release which is more brightly colored and has a more glossy finish in the dark painted areas. If you can get a deal on jh miller, im sure you would love to have them in your collection too!
I'm seeking Orsenigo and other interesting vintage dinosaurs. Contact me if you can help with my search!

Miller is great; I'd like to find one at a reasonable price one day (but it's really hard, I know)..  ::)

About "vintage" figures, now I'm more concerned about finding the Kinto/Favorite Desktop "Oldies" 1920 Tyrannosaurus resin:

..and the Favorite 1:1 Archeaopteryx:

::)

Recently I did some additions to old and retired Safari Ltd. lines.

The first one is the Safari Dinosaurs of China line (sculpted by Ely Kish).
Now I have all the 3 figures (without 2 fossilized environments):

The second retired line from Safari is The Missing Links.
Safari created the line for a US Exhibition in 1997.
The full line is 7 figures:  Mammoth, Mammoth Calf, Rhino, Smilodon and a Neanderthal family (3 pieces).

The Neanderthal family is still missing in my collection:

(picture from Ikessauro Collection)

They're standing on my shelf with an AAA Bear (or Cave Bear  ;) ) with the same visual style of Missing Links figures:

Aside from the obvious seams, the Tyco Dimetrodon looks pretty natural. Even the head shape resembles the upcoming WS version:

The Tyco Dimetrodon has extremely visible seam lines on the body and head.
That's why I called it "a toy" ("action figure" could be better..).
It doesn't fit very well into my collection.
And I don't like Dino Riders at all.
Sorry.  :-[
