Seeing that...makes me curious what he'd have in mind for a larger theropod line in the future.  Assuming he doesn't just go Tyrannosaurs, which...while neat, I think that'd be an odd line because of the varying sizes of Tyrannosaurs, whereas if he did a large theropod line, he could branch into animals like Giganotosaurus or Yangchuanosaurus.
I'm excited for REBOR's Acro!  Can't ya tell?

Appalachiosaurus

I'm honestly not sure what he should do next. Tyrannosaurs has its appeal because that means finally getting an Appalachiosaurus toy (aka my ultimate dream), but other than that, Yutyrannus, and the big namesake itself most others will be skips. Generic big theropods means stuff like Allosaurus and Acrocanthosaurus and other must-buys, but it'll ultimately mean one of the big selling points of the line of showcasing obscure genera will be lost. Both have their benefits and downsides, but given that is like a couple of years a way, I think it's best if we focus on trying to figure out what ceratopsians to buy first.

Cretaceous Crab

Pachycephalians would be a good line, as would lambeosaurines or oviraptorids.

LeapingLaelaps

I think his current plans are Tyrannosaurs in 2020 and then after that he's doing dragons?

I'm REALLY hoping that after dragons he does spinosaurids, hadrosaurs or pterosaurs

Faelrin

I did ask him a while back if he could possibly take other large and medium sized theropods into consideration for the line after ceratopsians and not just tyrannosaurids. In any case it'll be years before that line is worked on, with the huge number of ceratopsians being the next focus. Thankfully for my sake, the Mattel JW line kind of hits the sweet spot for theropod action figures for me, for the time being, even if they aren't scientifically accurate takes (Acrocanthosaurus and some others aside).

I saw his comment about that and I have such mixed opinions. Like... okay, dragons are cool (I'll admit, I adore dragons) but.... the series is called 'Beasts Of The Mesozoic' so does this mean he's creating a new series for mythical animals? If so, would that have an impact on the dinosaur line?

If it's a general "large theropods" line I probably won't buy many. Part of why I like this line is because it shines a light on neglected species (ok, some should have stayed neglected if they're based on only a scrap of bone). A tyrannosaur line would be cool, especially if it included weirdos like Alioramus, or, yes, Appalachiosaurus. I'd definitely skip the Tyrannosaurus(es), though.

Dragons? Bummer. I mean, good for dragon fans, but I only want them prehistoric animals. Re: IrritatorRaji's comment, I doubt it would be under the BotM banner. It would just necessitate his taking a break from dinos.

Yeah, I'm a little bit disappointed about the dragons line. Obviously they're going to look amazing and I'll probably buy them, but I would much rather have dinosaurs lol

David did make epic dragons...

Yeah, but...

Dinosaurs > Dragons

But I'm not too bummed, it'll give me a few years for my wallet to heal after the inevitable beating it'll take in the near future.

I was really into Mcfarlane's DRAGONS for years...but i've moved away from them now..we'll see how they turn out.  If nothing else Dragons vs Dinosaurs sounds cool.

Perhaps, he should do stegosauridae next...

I'll happily support that idea. And I think before we dream everything about every theropods we can think of we should see how the ceratopsian line will go. He wants to do around 50 figures of them. It will be interesting to see how that line will manage. And we should create a new thread for the new line. This thread is already huge and it's confusing and annoying a little to see the mixed shots as everybody got their raptors and the ceratopsids in the making.

I'd love that, to be honest. Stegosaurs don't get enough love, and I can only think of a small handful of truly great Stegosaur toys.

Blade-of-the-Moon

If he really wanted to do a quick and cheap line hadrosaurs would be great,  almost the exact same body plan for each with only a different head sculpt.

Yeah this thread is getting really huge and I would prefer to have one for only ceratopsians to be more organized

Does anyone want me to make one?

I say you might as well, since you've already done the spreadsheet.

New Kickstarter update, which features a teaser about "surprises" for the Beasts of the Mesozoic line:

Not sure if this is hinting at new artwork available from Kuo, or if it's alluding to 1/18 scale raptor figures that Silva has suggested could be a possibility.
