You never rest do you! ;D It is always fascinating following this thread.

Will you create an 'Indominus rex' if visitors demand it? Or, do you think "They're dinosaurs, wow enough". ;)

Not even when I try to sleep! lol

I generally agree with the latter..but I am looking into maybe getting a special shipment from Isla Nublar for our Dino Park in the Dark event in July... ;)

The Edmontosaurus is perfect! Are you gonna give him the crest of back scales?
In the end it was not guns or bombs that defeated the aliens, but that humblest of all God's creatures... the Tyrannosaurus rex.

You mean the row of bumps/osteoderms along the back? I might..

triceratops83

Yeah - it'd look cool, but I reckon it might fiddly. The Edmontosaurus is the one I'm most keen to see. How'd the school visit go?

It would, if I could afford enough Apoxie Sculpt I'd certainly do it. As is I'd have to add foam, carve and cover which can be done..just takes longer and is more..aggravating. lol

Not bad at all. Actually the kids were really nice and respectful, several told me how much they loved the Park and thanked me. One smaller boy came up pulled on my shirt to get my attention, he asked" Did you make all of these?" I said "Yes we did".  He replied" Thank you for making this place for us. We love it! "  I was very moved you don't get many kids nowadays that are that appreciative.

We have another school trip this week coming up on Thursday. If it goes as well I'll be happy.  ^-^

Hello everyone! We are doing our best to open our Terrors of the Deep exhibit as soon as possible ( we were hoping this month!) but we are not gettign enough donations as of yet to make it happen. We need 450.00 to get the electric cable we need to get power to the exhibit. The rest is ready! Would anyone like to sponsor the exhibit with their local business? We would be happy to add a " presented by " and a sign for the company that would be willing to help us out. Paypal donations can be accepted here : [email protected] or feel free to email me, Chris, here : [email protected] Thank you!!!!

Nice! They look like they're just calmly strutting along, maybe off to find somewhere to rest after a meal. ;)

Those look cool, can't wait to see them painted.
That looks like an off-exhibit area, when they are done do you just open the area for exhibit or do you move them? If yes how do you move them, everyone grab a corner of the base?

I tend to think Paulo ( the Ceratosaurus) is looking to bite the Pachy's tail. Then of course unseen, Annie or Edmontosaurus is going to chomp Paulo's... lol

Thanks bud! Same here..I want them done NOW. lol

Yeah this is in front of our shop, behind the Terrors of the Deep building.  We have built some in place before, usually the larger ones then we just open that area up. These will be moved though, we will pick them up( 4+ man teams) load them on to a 16' trailer and take them each to their spot.

One of the awesome kids we had visit us today from Keenburg Elementary, he was a great dino-expert too! Maybe a future volunteer? ;) :)

Memories like that at that age shape futures, volunteer, teacher, palaeontologist, artist, theme park worker/owner, who knows? Either way its a good thing.

That's it bud! Hopefully years from now I'll hear that kids who visited us were inspired on to do something awesome! If that happens even once, I'll consider my time here well spent.

Nothronychus head/neck painted. Had to get this done so it go up before we continued down the rest of the body.  I didn't add those problematic vinyl feathers this time for the reason discussed before but instead attempted to paint in the avian coloration I wanted as if it had feathers anyway as was suggested by a couple other members.

Had a leak somewhere in the Spinosaurus pond..instead of checking for a tiny leak somewhere in all that mud..we rebuilt the entire thing . lol

I know the feeling! My parents got a leak in their garden pond, so it's more like a garden swamp now. Dad and I are due to fill it in some time, but I'm trying to persuade him to get one of those little pre-shaped plastic liners and put that in too - it would mean the frogs would have somewhere to spawn like usual - they didn't have anywhere in our garden this year. :( Whatever happens, it's probably gonna be a horrible, back-breaking experience.  >:(  At least you had a nice dino to admire while you were working. :)

That reminds me, do you plan to eventually build the "new" version of Spinosaurus (probably not a fully grown one), perhaps partially submerged in water, perhaps as a part of the Terrors of the Deep exhibit?

Pre-shaped liners mean you have t conform to that and dig it out perfectly. A nice thick pond liner can do much better and look more natural. You can also just drain the water and add it in over the existing one.

We have plenty of frogs, but the goldfish we keep in the ponds eat the tadpoles, though they also eat the mosquito larvae. Snakes also take their toll..fortunately I didn't run into any. ;)

The Spino bit me in the head pretty good a few times..had to have help keeping him off me..lol

My current juvenile Spino I think is still technically accurate. It has pretty short legs, the blunted snout was added for a juvenile trait.

Terrors of the Deep is pretty full right now with the Mosasaur in it, I have space for a couple 3-4' additions at some point. Maybe an Icthyosaur?

I might build an adult one but as you mentioned the plan is for a partially submerged version..at least that's the plan. Maybe just plant tall grasses so it looks like it's emerging from a pond?

Sounds good :).

As for the extra space in Terrors of Deep, how about some kind of dolichosaur?

That could be an option too.  Say it and Icthyosaur then.  I'd like to do a Pliosaur, but it would require expanding the building..something for the future is we get enough donations to actually do it.
