Blade-of-the-Moon

Still looking for more donations friends!

The funds the Park brings in on  a weekly basis pays for our advertising, gift shop restock, gas for lawn mower,  repairing/replacing lights/water feature parts/ect... and repainting of dinosaurs when needed..lots of little things. but with all of them we can't take out enough to make the 500.00 we need for electrical. So we really need help with this asap!

Here's a pic I took of the front of the building :

Been trying to decide whether or not to include the line of osteoderms on the back of our juvenile Edmontosaurus. I've decided to let you pick for me. To do it we need to get some Apoxie sculpt ( 50.00 for 8lbs). If you want to see this girl with osteoderm detailing then please donate to our paypal account here : [email protected]

I personally think she'd look great with osteoderms - unfortunately I don't have a paypal account as of yet, so I can't donate that way, but I'm very interested in the project!  :)

Thanks, at least some small ones would be nice for a 20' animal.  We can accept checks, money orders, gift cards, ect as well if paypal doesn't work.  We also have a GoFundMe account here : http://www.gofundme.com/357zus

Thanks bud! Nothro is coming along well . Terrors of the Deep is technically finished...been so for almost a month..we just need funds to run power to it. We haven't received many donations to help with it, hence the video. We still need around 400.00 .

All of these models are looking great! I am especially excited for seeing the Nothronychus! Hey, may I ask how do you create these? Have you already answered this question? Should I look back a few pages? Thanks anyways!

Thanks! We get asked that a lot,  I did do a video last summer that sort of talks about how we do it here :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obDQkACloq4

We need to create an exhibit here at the Park showing how we do it as well..on my (very long) to do list. ;)

If you have any questions after watching just let me know!

Blade-of-the-Moon

Not sure when we'll get our Terrors of the Deep exhibit open now..I'm having some expenses on other things in the Park and our donations for the electrical wire for it is holding at 20.00.. :/

On a happier note...
Paulo the Ceratosaurus finished minus paint!

fabricious

Good luck with the donations, mate. The Ceratosaurus came out well I think!

Say, have you ever considered making smaller dinosaurs with paper mache and then covering the whole thing in clear lacquer or epoxy? I am currently considering that for the Velociraptor model that I still want to make.

triceratops83

That is the best Ceratosaurus! The Edmontosaurus looks like he is about to pull a prank on him - I can see the mischievous glint in his eyes.
In the end it was not guns or bombs that defeated the aliens, but that humblest of all God's creatures... the Tyrannosaurus rex.

Blade-of-the-Moon

Thanks, I hope we get more. It feels like such a waste sitting here ready to go with no power....broken toys and all that.
I've never been great at paper mache, I prefer sturdy, more controllable materials.  Since these are going outdoors in the woods they have to hold up 365 days a year in various weather conditions, not to mention the odd limb falling on them, nuts from squirrels, ect..  Epoxy or in my case, Apoxie Sculpt would be a good way to coat one, but the material costs around 40-50.00 for 4 pounds shipped. A velocirpator would probably work at around a 100.00 if coated thin...maybe 150.00?   Mine currently cost me around 50-60.00 total...but a lot more work.

Thanks bud, yeah when they were lined up the Cerato was going to chomp the Pachy's tail and the Edmontosaurus was going to bite the Cerato..I think it's a plot with the Nothronychus heading it up... ;)

fabricious

It might still be a cheap alternative for smaller dinosaurs, especially for indoor-stuff. :)

It would at that..I just have very little in the way of indoor pieces. The smallest I've done is a hatchling Kentrosaur and it was all out of sculpey I baked and sealed.

Thanks to a local fraternal group, the Woodmen of America, we are officially halfway to our goal with a 200.00 donation. Just need to get another 200.00!
