lol I would actually be done if  I hadn't ran out of one color. I finished one side, then half of the other..now I have to wait to go get more. I might just finish the eyes today and photograph one side. Grrr.

Styracosaurus painted :

Sun was already behind the trees so the full color doesn't really " pop " ..I'll get a couple tomorrow if it's sunny. :)

Good, of course!  :D

heh heh ! ;D

I'm pretty satisfied with it overall. There is always something more that could have been added or done  I suppose..color-wise..it's always change-able. ;)

Wanna know how I did the patterns ? :)

I wonder if I should quote Mr Bennet from Austen's Pride and Prejudice: 'You want to tell me, and I have no objection to hearing it.'  ;D

Hehe, yes, I do. I've been wondering about it, actually. Stencils of some sort?

lol it's a little odd and kinda neat I think.

We have these bushes in our backyard..my grandmother planted them and used to break her off a switch to get us with when we were little..lol  Anyway I liked the shape and size of the leaves so  I painted one color, then used the branch to spray over .. ;)  Did it work well ? ;D

It's a thought. If  I did  a hadrosaur  I would probably do a larger Para to go with the juvenile I have and make a nest to go with it. :)

Takama

heres my idea. a chicken coop with Compys :P

Bokisaurus

Excellent. Did you attach the sprigs with anything, or just held them against your model then sprayed?

What dinosaur are you making next?

Just held them there. I tried not holing them too close..I didn't want a perfect leaf pattern..just something close that an animal could have ..maybe for camouflage purposes.

I swear..I kept accidentally hitting modify when I mean to hit quote..  :-\

Working on the juvenile tyrannosaur / Gorgosaurus right now...might move on to the Kentrosaurus after that.

Gryphoceratops

Wow lovely!  Great color choices and I like the pattern you have on there.

I mentioned it long ago, but I happen to like what I call a 'dappled leaf' sort of patterning when I draw and paint dinosaur markings myself. See signature, for instance.  ;D

And yes, do be careful about accidentally modifying something!  :))

Love the end result of the styraco.  The teal color is great one of my fave and I love the gold eye.  I'm glad you shortened the neck as yes it was too long. Your gorgo is coming along nicely tool.  And yes I hear you on ceratopsians being a challenge.  I'm going to be work on some and they're very different to draw than most other dinos.

Cool, I just kept thinking about the markings on the Sideshow Apato's back and how is was remarked to look like sun through tree leaves..that's kinda where I started I think.

Will try to..so far I've just been accidently typing my replies in other's posts..lol

Glad you like it ! The eye is hard to see but there is some green and black detailing in there as well. :)
Yeah the neck def need a little shortening..something to keep an eye out for in the future. ;)

Agreed. In profile I do ok..it's when I start drawing their heads from different angles things can get..weird. lol

We moved the Styrac to a better home yesterday :

Any of you guys think the pupil should be a bit bigger ?
