Thank you!  Hopefully I'll get back to actually building dinosaurs at some point, mostly now I'm cleaning, doing maintenance and just general construction around the park. I have so much to do still.  My poor Spitter is still in it's foam stage from last July. I can't decide whether to make the neck move on it or just make a static sculpture. I did finally putty up a couple more models, Shane's Anatotitan and David's Rex Mundi :

I was tired of moving the basic cutout around my work area so decided to try and finish the juvenile T.Rex project I started last year.  I decided to make two juveniles, after all you always need MORE tyrannosaurs right? ;)

Nonsense, you can never have too much of a good thing! ;) It's looking great so far and very lifelike, but then I wouldn't expect anything less from you! I look forward to seeing it finished.

Thanks, I wish I had that confidence! lol

I'm waiting to get the yellow eyes in I ordered but here is a test with a spare green one :

Looks gorgeous. If the yellow ones are anything like that, they'll really set it off and bring it to life.

I'm surprised you're going for a spitter given how accuracy-focussed you usually are. Regardless, I'm sure the final product will be cool!

Yeah I'm a HUGE JP fan too..it's what really jump started a blooming fascination with dinosaurs that has continued unabated. lol  I actually started this guy last June for the JP Anniversary, I'm just WAY behind what with all the events and inspections.  I have a juvenile Dilophosaurus in the park that is more accurate if a bit emaciated. Last year  I did build a full adult Dilophosaurus so now they can look at a compare the real thing to a movie monster ( which people still love..I expect a lot of photo ops with sticks.. lol )

Here's her head again:

I did get a bit more work done on the little tyrants..

Tyto_Theropod

Nice progress all round. One thing I noticed is that the Tyrannosaurs' nostrils are hard to see at the moment, so you may want to make them a bit more defined. I appreciate that you're the one seeing them in person, though, so I'd trust your judgement over mine on that one. They'll probably look better when the model's all painted.

I used to make big pronounced nostrils, they kinda stood out too much, so I've tried scaling them back.  These are roughly 1mm long. Once painted there should be a little depth in there, it may help. I could paint them in black but I'm not sure it would look good.

You really need to take it easy on your help. You've worked those guys in the back to the bone. :D

Seriously now, its like you are making your very own life size Horizon Jurassic Park model, cool! Can't wait to see it painted.

Same as the rest of the body, a 12 gauge welded steel wire overlaid with chicken wire then wrapped in vinyl.  I have to think about awhile I almost used wood but the wait and durability was a problem.  If I could do it, sheet metal with welded attachments would have been best, then I just wrap that in vinyl.

lol It's not like they didn't ask for it.. beware coming here and offering to help.. ;)

Thanks bud, I did a JP paint scheme on the previous juv. Dilo the park had it's not too difficult but I suspect that frill will take a day or so.

Blade-of-the-Moon

Ready for paint..as soon as it warms up again!

Ah, that makes sense. I thought at first it might be sheet metal, and I was going to wonder how it turned out so tidy. Your way sounds easier.

Sheet metal would have been easier if I knew anything about working with it. lol  Covering it vinyl wouldnt have been bad, probably a lot smoother.  Welding attachment points for it would have been another issue.
