Those clowns behind the Allo creep me out, Have you ever dressed up as one, sat with them and then jump out at anyone?
Some of them look like the clown from the movie Amusement, I hate that clown.

lol your not the only one I will tell you.. heh

I've actually played a killer klown at our clown-oriented haunted attraction for the past 4 years now...so I've got lot's of scaring in as one.. ;)

These clowns here are just about all from Killer Klowns from Outer Space the movie, created by the famous Chiodo Bros ! Who are also responsible for quite a few dinosaurs as well. :)

Thank you.

I've almost finished feathering the Struthio but I hit upon an issue. It's going to be almost impossible to paint this guy with all the feather layers.  So I'm thinking something like the Battat Gallimimus ?  Leave most of it yellow, maybe some oranges and such with few darker markings ?

I think that would be neat. If you can do some 'lacing' like on the Golden-Laced Polish on say, the tail feathers or arm-feathers that would be neat. Say perhaps just a little bit of a darker color paint (the burnt orange could work) on the edges of the feathers would surely make him stand out. ;)

That would a great paint scheme. My paint style for these guys is usually sprays though then I detail the heads and claws with brushes. I'm thinking it would be extremely hard to detail each feather that way (but cool ) though my brush paint probably won't stick to the vinyl.. :/ Now I can do some darker tones in those areas, the thing is when the wind makes the feathers ruffle you will end up seeing the actual bright yellow underneath. I just won't be able to get every bit of it.

Feather progress, almost done !

Ack, forgot about that. D: I wonder, if it would be possible to cut out your pieces before-hand, paint the edges that will show, and then attach them to the body. It'd be something to test out someday if you ever do another one with feathers. Ah well. D:

Could be. If I had a lot of different colors of vinyl that would help as wel..but I'm stuck with what I can find. :/

I will say it will be quiet awhile before I do another feathered dino ! lol

I started framing the Kentro's body today and I'm working up sketches for my Parasaurolophus as well. Man their skulls are difficult..gonna be a lot of fun to figure out..  ;D

Blade-of-the-Moon

Didn't get much done today..for some obvious reasons :

Sneak peek at my next dino after the Kentro and Allo :

Anyone have any skeletal references from the front, back, and above ?  Or any idea which Para figure is most accurate ?

Does this help? Maybe it's not completely skeletal but it is from the back.

This should help too  ^-^

Takama

Most accurate Figure?   UM.   Either Scheilchs newer one or The Kinto favorite soft models.

those, or you can wait for dinonikes to finsh his version two model

Thank you TQ I'm sure those will assist me. :)

I'm currently using the Schleich model for the head and the Safari toob skull as well as various drawings and pics.  It looked like the Schleich received some really high marks on the blog. The Papo had a 4 out of 5 if I recall as well.

I hope to use mb-cg's model for a pose when he gets the 1/40 version done.  I wonder how far along Malcolm is in finishing his 2nd one ?  I'm sure it would make an excellent reference piece.

Not sure how accurate either of these are, especially the last one:

Thanks for the help !

Well the first pic is of P. cyrtocristatus sometimes thought to be a female P. Walkeri which is the species I'm actually doing.  :)

The last pic might be good..the legs look a little small to me perhaps.

Does anyone know if the images in Greg Paul's field guide include the pics I'm looking for ? I've been meaning to buy it and haven't yet. If it does this would give me a good reason. ;)

Yes, they do. Actually, I'm kinda surprised you don't own it yet. I think it is required reading for every dino maniac ;)
I think it's an awesome book. Not too technical but not simplistic either. You won't regret buying it :)

Cool. I'm a bit of procrastinator when it comes to media. Waiting til something is available used or the like. lol   I will definitely pick it up then , probably right after Christmas.  I really need those skeletals from those angles. :)
