Ha ha, yes my mother was worried she'd have to purchase additional insurance in case something happened.  Thankfully, I'm too level-headed to put anyone in something that wasn't safe.  ;)  (And what Haunted House wouldn't be better with a roller coaster?)

The Brachiosaurs' looking gorgeous - your mention of spines reminded me of the Greg Paul / Bob Morales sculpture.  One of my favorites:

Meant to put a link to our page for the haunt up there..here we go : http://www.wix.com/thefunhouse/hauntedappalachiancaverns

and on FB : http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Funhouse-Haunted-Attraction/131000347019788

Yeah I'm digging spined sauropods a lot more now...this guy being so young will only have a few of them near the head though.. ;D

Blade-of-the-Moon

Well today started off good after all the rain yesterday ..then it struck again :

..then it cleared up :

Then it rained again :

Well I gave up on the Brachio for the day and decided I might as well work on the Spinosaur pond and get the water fall working.Sure it's raining, but I have to waded in there and I might as well do it while I'm going to wet anyway . Then it starts raining harder..well I persevere...things can't worse right ?  As soon as I thought that I knew I shouldn't have.  That's when the lighting struck a few hundred feet away.  Okay I get it.  Time to go in.

This rain is really holding me back. :/

Heh heh..thanks. I recall my grandmother used to say that often...but I've never became sick from rain..it's like jumping in a cool pool to me.

Just an FYI, you can't get sick or pneumonia from staying out in cold weather....it only lowers your immune system so that it makes it easier to catch infection  :P

I'm guessing the Brachio isn't life-sized right? That would be rather difficult.

Sorry meant to say " I've never become sick from the rain " .

Actually it is 1/1 or life size..for a juvenile animal. ;)

Arioch

Good job so far with the bachio head and neck.  :)

Oh wow! It's coming right along isn't it? Oh gosh, I am excited to see this get finished. It's gonna be magnificent!

Blade-of-the-Moon

Thank you both.

Yeah it's moving along..I had planned to finish up the main body today but it's only about half done if that. Once it's finished i'll move onto the legs.

I also ran into a fun issue..I have no idea how I'm going to move this big girl. Right now I'm considering buying some wheels and making a set of axles so I can move slide it on, move her into place, then back off again.

Could be nice to have for any future larger dinos I do as well. ;)

Weaver

Ahaha... oh dear. I like the idea of the axels and wheels especially if you make larger dinos. ;) How much do you think she'll weigh when you finish her?

Not as much as you would think really. Probably less than 150 lbs ..weight is part of the issue..but mostly it's just the awkward-ness of it. I really don't want her gripped by the head, neck, and tail..and bending over to lift from the base would be back breaking after only a few feet. Better to add some medium sized wheels and a couple guys just guide her into place. :)

My back and other joints have been making more trouble for me as I get older so I'm getting more cautious about how I use them. ;)

Darko2300

Don't get me started on back problems.... ::)

She is coming along magnificently!  Have you thought of using refrigerator wheels for moving her?  It's been years since I've purchased any, but I recall them being fairly cheap.  Essentially a wheel (or set of 2 rollers) mounted on a section of threaded rod.  They're designed to be (here's the shocker) installed on the bottoms of refrigerators/freezers to make moving them easier.  (Or just simply to make moving them a possibility.  Some of those things are HUGE.)  You could easily install them onto a base constructed of 2x4's, no?

That could be a plan..I've found some large wheels for about 5.00 each and planned to build some 2x4 axles to hold them and then screw them on til it's moved..then they can taken off again. :)

Finished the waterfall for the Spino :

Progress on Brachio :

Darko2300

Loving the waterfall.  It looks great.

And seeing the Brachiosaur progress still gets me excited - it's going to be so huge!

I have this line running through my head as I work..describing sauropods as living walls of flesh..and another recent bit about how move like planets among the smaller creatures. It's a true shame there is no creature even close to a sauropod in the world today.

Tylosaurus

Very nice work with the waterfall for the Spinosaurus Aegypticus Pond Blade!

Blade-of-the-Moon

Thanks I'm happy with it !

It was a little exciting..working with the heat gun and all while standing knee deep in the water..I kept fearing if I dropped it and fried myself... ouch.

Meso-Cenozoic

Nice job again, Chris! And your Brachi is also coming along nicely. Yes, don't kill yourself before you at least finish your Brachi, for goodness sake! :o  ;)

I keep second guessing things..that slows me down a bit..I just had to check the leg length and tail height again to see if it was feasible..not much I can do about it at this point...it just bugged me til I checked. Kind of annoying habit really.  ^-^

I'm definitely trying.. lol  I'd like to see at least 30..which.. is.. in.. November..  ???  Eh it'll work out.. ;D
