Thanks Mr Admin. I think talking about this is causing more people to look for certain aspects in the dioramas so its best to just leave it behind, seeing how certain people have can get advantages over others.

I like the dioramas that have a sense of movement, there are a few this year. Positioning the figures correctly and take the shoot from the correct angle does the trick. But this time some used dust or blur to add that sense.
I'll try that just for fun, because my idea for the next year is not dust/blur compatible.

If you want to make a natural dust effect, try to use a smoke on a cigarrete. Blow the smoke to the scene and take the photo of it. But thats if only youre a smoker :D other way, you can throw a smooth sand, really smooth sand, to the scene and then take the photo of it. Use the shutter shot mode, 1 click can take 10 picture :)

Thank you for the suggestions. I'll try some.

I'm not a smoker, I just blow bubbles in by pipe

Smoke over the troubled dinosaurs? I think there is a better solution for non-smokers like me. Please wait until we can talk free after the running competion.

I don't see anything wrong with it as long as you aren't giving the poor dinosaurs alcohol too..... ??? ??? ???
Authors with varying competence have suggested dinosaurs disappeared because of meteorites...God's will, raids by little green hunters in flying saucers, lack of standing room in Noah's Ark, and palaeoweltschmerz—Glenn Jepsen

Tough field.  I really had to wrestle with my conscience to pare it down from an original 23 to a mere 10.  Great work, everyone.  I tried to put myself in the place of each participant before rejecting any entry in order to experience and appreciate the effort each entrant had put into his/her production.  Everybody seems to have expended heart and sweat in the various entries, and I'm sure we all got a lot of satisfaction and pleasure perusing them.  There were several, in particular, which I would have liked to pluck out of the computer screen and set up on a shelf in my dinosaur room (if there were any shelf space left, which there is not).  My personal thanks to all contestants, and good luck to each.

Great to see the votes still rolling in. There are more members logging in each day than have voted so far,  so there could be plenty more votes to come, maybe they're biding their time. :)

Just voted Dr Admin, glad I wasn't too late!

I got round to it yesterday and it was a real pleasure going through all the entries.  My husband asked why I hadn't put in something - I hadn't realised he took that much notice of my hobby!  Perhaps a good way to help get votes in would be to add the voting deadline date to the button "See and vote here", just to jog people's attention and remind them they haven't got for ever!

Good idea, I'll do that!

Already??? This time I have no expectations of winning, so the waiting for the result has been easier, so much I didn't even notice how close we are to the winner revelation!

so many entries. i wonder if we should have separate categories for "natural" diorama and photoshopped dioramas next year.
