No offense but I prefer not to vote for the ones that use Non toys. Feel its unfair because not everyone has access (or money to buy) sculps. The same with completely custom figures. I'm perfectly fine with the customised (reposed and/or repainted) ones.
I'm just sharing my thoughts.

I can understand your point of view, but on this forum are very talented people and you don't know if the figures you see are made for the authors of the entries or if they buy it. I think the variety and originality have to be rewarded if there is a good craftsmanship behind.

It's amazing how all encompassing a seeming narrow picture contest can be. Photoshop vs. natural vs. handmade dioramas? Toys vs. statues vs. custom work? This forum has a diverse assemblage of collectors. Some of them probably don't even collect toys. It doesn't make sense to exclude any one sub-set of collector but I agree that it can be frustrating to try to turn in a good entry if you're a person of limited means. Work with what you have and do your best. My favorite dioramas in this contest are not the ones with expensive pieces. I vote for the picture, not necessarily what model is used. Composition, creativity, lighting, camera focus etc. etc. These things are what matter most to me. Anyone can toss a nice looking model in front of a camera, and some do. They won't get my vote.

Last year I got 2 votes (and 1 was mine)  :'(
I'll be soooo happy if I get 3 or more this year.  ^-^

In my honest opinion It's not so much the quality of the figure, but more so how good the overall scene is.
You can have the best dino figures on the market, but if you can't put them in a nice scene you'll still lose.
It doesn't matter if its a toy, model kit, or a hand made figure.

I've voted... it was hard to narrow it down to 10!  I definitely think there is a huge diversity amongst the entries.  As mentioned before, not everyone has access to the same resources (figures, backgrounds, cameras, etc.).  I still think it's amazing to see all the entries.

I personally like handmade dioramas and natural ones the best.  I like when a handmade one is so good you can't tell the difference!  Most of these awesome entries make mine pale in comparison.  Good luck to everyone!

Megalosaurus

Thank you for your replies.
Its very nice to have such talented people in the forum.

I've already voted. I can't see a clear winner here, but I have a top 5 (mine not included).
I had to read each tittle and examine the pictures carefully to catch the intention of the artist. Took me a while and I repeated several times.

Amazing entries everyone! It's so much fun to see so many members participate in the contest. Good luck to everyone who participated, I will have to look at each one again a few more times before I make my decision ;)

Nebuloid

Just voted ! I have 2 clear favourites, 3 if I count my own entry  ;) Can't wait to see the results.

OK.  After a day, I've taken another look at the photos and I am positive I KNOW which 2 photos will be the finalists ... and I suspect I know which one will win too ... now I have to wait 29 more days to see if I am correct ...  ;) ;) ;)

Amazing entries everyone!!!

I know why the voting statistics are kept a secret til the final ballot is cast, but a part of me wishes that, now that I have voted, I could watch the "horse race" develop over the next month....

Refresh page if this happens, it happened to me on a tablet yesterday. Some sort of glitch.

In #53 what figure is that Theropod? and who made it?

This is a Herrerrasaurus from Manuel Bejarano designed for Shapeways prints.

Mitko

Oh no, I'm so dumb. I didn't know I have to vote for all 10 at once, I voted for one and thought I would vote for the others later, obviously I can't. :'( Dr.Admin, can this be fixed or would it be possible that I send you a PM with the numbers of my favourites and you vote for them on my behalf, somehow?

darylj

unfortunately i missed the cut off.. very disappointed.
stupid 'life' getting in the way.....
but i must say... the standard this year is exceptional... some very good entries, and im struggling to get my vote list down from 17 votes!!!!

Gwangi

Well I finally voted, but it was pretty hard! Last night I selected my votes but could not narrow it down past 11. Today I managed to pick my 10, but there are still some I would have loved to have voted for but simply could not.

Arul

Call me childish or "too much", but i really enjoy this moment, for real  :P

Gonna post the result when the contest end lol  >:D

Paleona

Good luck, everyone!  Lots of good stuff, but I've got 5 in particular that I'm rooting for. :)
I'm glad I had a chance to participate this year, thanks for hosting it again!

Federreptil

I placed my votes and now – for me – the 30 day run could cut down immediately to a few hours. From this point on the waiting for the results is so stressful.

In my listing I miss only two bonus places and in a hard view, I have three favorites (except mine – because I'm here not very objective). ;)

Patrx

After careful consideration I have decided ...which dioramas to vote for ;D  Really great turnout this year; took me ages to narrow it down.

stargatedalek

I've never used all of my votes before, this year I just couldn't have enough!

Kayakasaurus

As soon as the entries were posted, and after looking through them with my Family, I went through and wrote down the ones I wanted to vote for that stood out, which came to 8. Then the tricky part was filing those last two places, and I ended up having to remove one to make room for the three I chose. Anyways, I'm very satisfied with my choices, and can't wait to see the results. I judged them by the overall look of the diorama, which included:
1. Dinosaurs needed to look natural with their environment
2. Good photography
3. They need to have a story or a clear feeling, of fear, peace etc.

Great submissions everyone!
