The Argentinosaurus by S. Cooper is beautyful... nevertheless as I saw the skeleton of an argentinosaurus in our museum (who knows if the reconstrution is right with such few bones, based on smaller titanosaurs)...
It looked much more like the huanghetitan figure in shape. More massive and with a higher neck.

The S. Cooper Argentinosaurus looks for me not like a Titanosaur more like a giant form of the (heavier build) Diplodocucidae- Apatosaurus branch?! No?

But I have too get this model this year.
It costs 299$ + shipping  here ...while I can get the huanghetitan (got two^^) for 68Euro
but i guess it´s worth :D

Hello everybody.

Just thought I'd share my own sauropod collection:

Sauropods are really awesome :)

The gray one, second from the left to right is the 1/35 Tamyia Brachiossaurus ?

Good to see him next to the Huanghetitan to get an idea of the size he is really big, I was thinking of buying one and I loved it, the papo`s Brachiosaurus looks like an juvenile with steroids
next him, hehehehehe

Both the huanghetitan and the other sauropod of PNSO are immense next to figures of other brands. Sorry they are not PVC, anyway they are awesome.

Nice display (and composition) avatar_Andreioli @Andreioli .  I only dream of having a nice looking sauropod shelf like that.

Strangely (among them), my favorite is still the old Safari "Brachiosaurus".

Thank you ITdactyl, I like grouping dinos by genera, especially if they are about the same scale.

Too bad large sauropod figures are so rare :(

PhilSauria

Agreed with the comment about large Sauropods - if anything they appear to be shrinking!!
Look at the original Schleich Brachiosaurus and Apatosaurus and the size of the figures that we have now - and I was quite disappointed at the (lack of) size of the Collecta Brontosaurus, an otherwise very nicely made figure, likewise the Safari Malawisaurus. And Mattel missed an opportunity to give us a large Sauropod, either Brachiosaur or Apatosaur. The former would have been much appreciated given the two evocative moments that this tall animal had in the film. Where have all the big Sauropods gone?

Jose S.M.

Mattel is going to make a Brachiosaurus apparently. I like it the Malawisaurus size since it wasn't really a big sauropod, but I agree about the gigantic species deserving bigger figures and that  this looks to be something from the past. I'm actually thinking of changing my display making it by approximate scale since my Brachiosaurus and Diplodocus look too small compared with their shelf mates the ornithopods.

Jetdin

will mattel's brachiosaurus be as big as the definitely dinosaurs one?

Jetdin

this is my tiny collection. i love big sauropods! there are more that are undisplayed due to space constraints. if mattel makes one the size of that playskool definitely dinos none, it would make a good pair with mine! i love to pretend that the playskool one is a Breviparopus hehe

ITdactyl

avatar_Jetdin @Jetdin  a "tiny" collection (not) of enormous animals... interesting that a blue whale actually displays well with sauropods.

this thread just keeps silly slapping my envy nerves. ;D

BTW, what's inside that glass/clear display case?

theyre so large i think i only have room for 1 more (mattel's brachiosaurus haha).

inside the clear display case are the safari ltd 2018 trike and safari ltd 2018 megacerops

here is an update.
the blue whale had to be moved to the Hintze Hall because there isnt enough space :-(

PhilSauria

There's something undeniably impressive about a group of large Sauropod figures, and put me down as envious of some of these. It's a pity that the plastic versions of these magnificent animals seem to be just as extinct now as their inspiration.

Bokisaurus

Ah, the glory days of huge sauropod figures! It really is a shame that the trend these days is to downsize the figures. I can understand that due to price being an issue, that the majority of company will produce smaller sized sauropods. That said, it would be a nice treat to give us one large sized figure of sauropod once in a while ( looking at you CollectA! ;D)

Nice Collection!

It is without a doubt the Safari camarasaurus superior to Carnegie's from my sincere point of view. Their colors are elegant and striking at the same time.
