It was an interesting city to visit, but I would never want to live there. The climate and the politics don't suit me.

With you 100%. I live in Chicago for good reason.

I will take Chicago over Phoenix in half an instant. I'd love to go back to the Field. Last time I was there was in 2004.

I lived in Scottsdale a while back so I can completely understand not wanting to live there :)).

Really? Have you ever lived through a Chicago winter near the lake?  (Not even mentioning the Fall and Spring with its rains and winds.  And the Summer?  How about 98 degrees with 95% humidity?

I lived in Chicago for 3 years while I went to school there, and I can sum it up thusly:  It IS a great city with lots of things to do, and I have yet to find a ballpark I enjoyed as much as Wrigley Field.  But the weather is horrendous.  A great city to visit, but heck on earth to live there.

Phoenix, OTOH, is a place that I visited many times during my time in the service due to Luke AFB being there.  Yes, its hot.  And blessedly so.  Without humidity its quite tolerable (so long as you stay out of the direct sun in mid-Summer).  Nothing like going out in the morning in shorts for a run and feeling a wall of dry heat caressing you gently.  And the desert landscape is so peaceful, I prefer it to just about any place East of Hawaii.

You guys could always try the UK. Rain and more rain. Kinda like Seattle.

I'm from Ontario, Simon. The cold doesn't bother me. Quite the opposite.

That place looks like fun! If I ever get to AZ I'll have to put it on the itinerary.

Different strokes, I guess! Even as an Arizona native, I would much rather put on a coat than sweat through my...everything. Although I usually give non-climate factors greater weight when deciding where to live.

The AMNH looks fun to visit, of course I have never been to Arizona, but at least now I have a destination if  I choose to go.  Usually I only see a couple of pterosaurus in a collection, this exhibit looks really nice, with plenty of room to walk around.
