Beautiful piece! I feel for you with the stress of a broken model, but I'm glad it's all sorted out. It looks amazing.

Here's an update on the state of my model room.  The finishing touch of the coffee table arrived this week.  It took me ages to find the right one and then there was a 12-week delivery wait!  I thought it would serve as a place to put books I'm reading or that haven't been shelved properly yet, and also models that haven't yet found their final position on the shelves.

The table is displaying what arrived from Everything Dinosaur yesterday, along with a couple of books that came this week.  Now I just need to get round to taking some photos of the models properly!  And sit in the chair with a cup of coffee....

I finally found the time to take some photos.  Today I'll show some of the Eofauna model, Palaeoloxodon antiquus, which arrived yesterday from Everything Dinosaur.  It's a beauty.  The only thing I notice is that the face is painted in such a way it looks a bit like it is wearing a different coloured mask.  But it's hardly noticeable.  Be careful when you stand it up - it's very stable but you need to position it correctly!

With the Steppe Mammoth:

And finally, both of them with the Wild Safari Amebelodon:

And finally a couple of the Steppe Mammoth.  I bought this a while back but didn't get round to photographing it!

If you need full resolution images, they can be found on my flickr account.

Shonisaurus

My palaeoloxodon antiquus of Eofauna is on my way home. I hope next week will be on my shelves.

It is a very large figure of an extinct elephant. I hope that Eofauna will surprise us in the future with new figures of prehistoric animals. Eofauna is a company to take into account and has not yet realized the prehistoric animal king: that is, the dinosaur.

On the other hand avatar_ceratopsian @ceratopsian  thanks for warning that you have to be careful when placing said figure to avoid falls. In case I put it in one of my low shelves to avoid problems. I'm glad that figure has finally arrived. It is very cool.

Bokisaurus

Beautiful and very impressive figure! Amazing details from what I can see. I can't wait to order it, hopefully soon.
Oh, that room of yours looks beautiful and so organized and clean! What a place to sit, relax and enjoy your collection! :)

B @Bokisaurus: thank you.  I certainly don't think you will be disappointed in this model.

Hmmm - you would be surprised how much dust gets into those cabinets despite me always keeping the doors shut unless I am putting a model in or taking it out!   :(  I know that my winter job will be to clean each shelf in turn and rearrange the animals.  That will be so painful!!  I'm sure I will spend many happy hours doing it.  :)  But yes, I love going into the room and spending time there - a real refuge.

I took photographs of several models yesterday that have come over the summer, so I have a little backlog to post over the next week or two.

I loved the little Mantellisaurus from CollectA.  I bought one as soon as Everything Dinosaur had them in stock.  I loved it even more when I had the model in my hand.  But I looked at it drinking and thought how much the poor drought-stricken beast deserved a stretch of water to quench its thirst.  Plus Robin showed his on an I-Toy Dilophosaurus base, and Halichoeres showed his on the BotM Wetlands base - and Bokisaurus too gave it a drink in his review for the blog.  This made me think.  I decided to keep the toy I already had in its CollectA "suit" (it's small and I'm fond of it) and to buy another one to have sent to Martin Garratt.  I asked him to give it a pool of water and to choose his own colours for my model (just no more red spodges!)  As it's a cheap model, it didn't seem too extravagant buying a second one.

This is what he came up with.

The Palaeoloxodon is a wonderful figure and extremely well sculpted for a mass-produced toy.
I also got mine and I just don't get it that they neglected to paint the forehead. It does look strange.
I'm thinking of sending it to Martin with one of my next commissions and let him eradicate the flaw.

Dusting is painful but re-arranging the collection is big fun :) !

:D The Mantelli-rama is wonderful! Sooo beautiful, well done.
Although the Mantellisaurus is pretty small and underestimated, it's one of my favourite CollectA Dinosaurs.

New colours are definitely needed on these two. I refused to buy them although I'm a huge Dimetrodon fan.
Maybe I'll change my opinion after seeing your garrattized versions :) .

Nimravus

Beautiful Mantellisaurus, it is much better than the original one. Mr. Garratt is a Master. I really love his work.
Btw, your studio (model room) looks really nice and elegant, like a quiet place to spare some time with one of your favorite hobbies :)

Talking about sculpture, the Collecta Dimetrodon is way better than Safari.
It only need a serious painting job (the actual one is so unreal  :-\ ).
And no one is better than Martin Garratt about seriously upgrading a figure..  8)
I'm curious too  ;)

:)

  ;D Hi, hi.

Finding a certain figure in my collection thread is easy. Just open the thread (any page) and type the name of the figure you're looking for in the Search field at the upper right corner. All posts with that particular figure will be shown ;) .

Very nice new figures, especially that Mantellisaurus repaint. I like that you have a sort of staging ground for new figures; seems like a good place to savor a figure for a while before it has to compete for attention for the other residents of its shelf.
