[Off Nick and Eddie's reactions to the dinosaurs] Oh yeah "Ooh, aah", that's how it always starts. But then there's running and screaming.

{about the T-Rex) When he sees us with his kid isn't he gonna be like "you"!?

Coincidence?  ;D

Perhaps we'll never know. *spooky music*

I have an official announcement by the Papo: they followed our advice to make a Carnotaurus and, above all, how to do it!
I do not know why I have not answered before ... Maybe because they were afraid that I would talk ahead of time ...

It happened!
I like the juxtaposition of this post with the one above it.

lol I know right ? ;D

You are free to believe that there Papo heard. Can you believe I've copied only the beautiful statue sideshow and that they have written to me just to pretend listening. However, two things make me believe the contrary:
- Read what the forum has requested and you will see that Papo have made an excellent summary of our requests;
- In my email I had two simple requests for Carnotaurus. Only one of which now you can control: the front legs. From what I see the legs are pronate which instead is WRONG statuette in all praised.

They could have both listened to us and copied Sideshow...

Possible ... I'm not saying that Papo have not looked even more ... But I only say that Papo also heard us ...

Can you show us what they actually said to you?

Exactly.

I'm also not clear what the disagreement here is ?

I try to translate it as best I can:
"... Every year Papo enriched its collection with about 100 new figures, and we do not fail to consider your suggestions for our next creations. In effect, this year our new collection of dinosaurs offers perhaps a surprise ... "

Holy crap.

Not a big fan of the legs (should be way thinner down the tibia with longer metatarsals) or feet orientation but considering what we could expect from Papo, that thing looks actually rather good.

The timing suggest that they could have listened to us, but on the other hand how many Carnotaurus models as good and popular as Slideshows are over there? Well, I don't know what to say.

Well, pop culture wise, Disney's Carnotaurus might be the most popular depiction. So it could have ended like that. Schleich's for sure did.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Schleich's resemblance to the Disney Carno ends pretty much at the species and the color.  The Disney ones despite their inaccuracies are still really awesome creatures..unlike Schleich's beast.

I think the most popular model ( meaning figure or toy) between dinosaur figure collectors must be Slideshow. I can't think of anything that beats it, and the guys of Papo must be smart enough to realize this (since they decided to not be original this time like they were with the Styracosaurus). They could have ripped Disney as well to reach for a wider market but maybe they were afraid to get in legal trouble...

Hate on Papo all you want, but admit that no other toy company (Carnegie, Wild Safari and their texture stamped models, or Favorite) has come close to matching the level of detail lavished on Paposaurs 8)
