Well, at least they put the eye crests where they belong on this one...

It's a shame they forgot to put everything else other than the eye crests where they belong...  >:D

I almost feel as though that Allosaurus would seem more authentic if it were sold as a diseased Kangaroo.

Perhaps they took inspiration from Conan Doyles original Lost World...I seem to recall the dinosaurs being described as kangaroo like but it's been over 30 years since I read it!

pylraster

It's almost 2017 and Schleich still doesn't know that theropods do not have pronated hands.

Although I feel like this one was just for pose reasons.
Schleich animals are so realistic, but their dinosaurs are just to get money from kids I suppose. At least their herbivores are usually alright.

pylraster

Oh what a surprise! Maybe that was indeed, for poses. But their new allosaurus  though. :)

It's really quite grim! There are some poor figures but that one takes the biscuit!

Im convinced that whoever does their awful dragons is the one making the dinosaurs. At this point Schleich probably sees dinosaurs as fantasy creatures and not real animals.

If only they also advertised them as fantasy creatures, then I'd have no problem with it.

Some of the Schleich dragons aren't too bad. I like the dragon diver and the dragon fighter makes a nice wyvern (although the latter is clearly cashing in on the Smaug design from the Peter Jackson Hobbit film, a character I don't like very much).

CityRaptor

Well, Dragon Flyer is pretty much a shrink-wrapped Deadly Nadder from Dreamworks Dragons...
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

sauroid

there's one or two dragons that look nice but when i see the stupid blunted teeth my disdain for Schleich always returns.

So are these 4 figures (Brachiosaurus, Allosaurus, Stegosaurus, & Utahraptor) I assume part of Schleich's "World of History" line? (I only collect the WoH figures)

There no longer using World of History to clasify there dinosaurs line.

Honestly i consider this a new line of models.    All of 2016 releases came with Info tags and all of 2017 models will come with info tags as well. and the line is simply called Dinosaurs, Not World of History

They changed the name of the line, but they're keeping plenty of the old figures in it. Some of the things they're releasing this year and next are even the same exact molds as WoH figures. I don't see any evidence of a reboot, just a rebranding of an existing product range.

CityRaptor

Exactly. Instead of being a subline imprint of World of History, Dinosaurs are now a line on their own, but with the same figures, while the Knights subline became Eldrador.
"First Giants" and "Conquering the Earth"  are merely sublines of Dinosaurs. Judging by the theme, we can probably expect a Cretaceous themed subline in 2018.

heh, I didn't even notice, even have the same coloring and head spikes! So they copy dragon designs as well as dinosaur designs. Well at least they are thorough. ::)

Not sure how these weren't shown yet:

New boxed set looks to be a huge improvement, if still not up to par these days.
