Silvanusaurus

I only name the ones I create or customise myself, as they feel more personal to me; so far I have:

Kronos the ancient Tyrannosaurus rex
Jenny Green-teeth the 'hag' Baryonyx
Mephistopheles the Carnotaurus
Baldur the Megalosaurus (still in the works)
And... Gren... hmmm, well that one is still a secret...  :-X

The names are all drawn from mythology, generally from British/European folk-lore or literature. Kronos was the greek god of time, Jenny Green-teeth is a water witch, Mephistopheles is the name for the Devil from 'Faust', Baldur was the Norse god of light. They always have some thematic or aesthetic link with the dinosaurs i make. I guess it's similar to how Rebor names their dinosaurs, only mine are one-offs and probably have more research behind them.  8)

Those are very cool names! I used to have a cheap chinasaur kronosaurus I named Kronos. No idea what happened to it though. I always enjoyed the names of mythical Things. Mostly cause of what they end up meaning when translated into English. Honestly, your names for your dinosaurs are much more cooler than rebors. Rebors are cool, but yours sound more inspired.   :D

I love your names you gave them! Especially Irwin the baryonyx. I also really liked Steve Irwin and his tv show. I was still pretty young when he died. I always enjoyed the "code names" the JP franchise gave to dinosaurs. Poor plateosaurus. It wasn't a meteor that killed off the dinosaurs, it was a lawn mower. Chunk is lucky to still be alive!  ;D

Generally not. Dinosaurs based on specific individuals ( i.e. Sue ) or otherwise named ( many JP Dinosaurs ) are refered to by those names, yes. But generally I don't give nicknames to them. Okay, sometimes I call the small Baby Apatosaurus I own Littlefoot, but it is rather obvious why from this stock photo:

Seriously, that was the first thing that came to my mind upon seeing it.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Derek.McManus

I did as a child, and my daughter has all her collection of horses named and recorded in a hard back notebook. It's also noticeable that Rebor names many of their models.

I only name figures that come with names, have characteristic damages, or I just feel like giving a name to because I like the figure.

Feels stupid to admit this, but I'm am an adult who still gives their dinosaurs names. Don't judge! >:D

Gwangi

I do not name my dinosaur toys, I have a hard enough time naming all my living reptiles. That said, many of my reptiles are named after dinosaurs or dinosaur-inspired movie monsters; Gorgo, Reptilicus, Gwangi, Turok, etc. etc.

Halichoeres

@CarnegieCollector: "Sausage" is a hilariously apt name for the Schleich Juniors rex.

I've never named any of my dinosaurs, can't be bothered. I think even if I had children, I would have a hard time finding the motivation and would end up throwing darts at a map of western Canada. "Sure, Medicine Hat, why not? Don't complain, it could have been Moose Jaw." Maybe better if I don't have kids.
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

Sausage would be a good name for the Safari Ltd. Kronosaurus

Haha! Thank you, he seemed like a sausage. Just so.....sausage-y, ya know?

Lol, at least those kids would be......unique!  ;D

Stuckasaurus (Dino Dad Reviews)

I have two Carnegie Elasmosaurs that I got when I was around 8 years old, and for some reason I decided to name them after my aunt and uncle.

Brontozaurus

I got the small collecta feathered Tyrannosaurus last week, and somewhere along the line decided it was the dad for the baby rex toy. So the dad rex is Greg (the most dad name I could think of) and the baby is Steven. Ten points if you also get the reference.

I used to name my toys, but not really any more.
