We've seen lots of big figures scaled down for the tubes, but we haven't seen the reverse yet at all. So I'm not optimistic, but CollectA could surprise me! Prior to this they had never made any invertebrate, mollusk, actinopterygian, turtle, or arthrodire of any kind, or in fact any animal from the Paleozoic.

I would especially like Xiphactinus and Leedsichthys rendered at full size, of course.
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

Collecta is unpredictable as to the revelation of the dark figures (although that does pay attention to the recommendations of the fans) but if you want to compete harder next year with Safari and fight for the first place you have to work even harder.

My opinion the only two leading toy companies by far are Collecta and Safari by far.

I also share that I would not be displeased precisely in absolute that Collecta made a xiphactinus or leedsichthys deluxe version. On the other hand other new figures in the toy dinosaur toy market such as archelon, estemmosuchus, saurolophus, chasmosaurus or glyptodon precisely would not displease me at all.

Today, Collecta is the undisputed leader in the production of prehistoric toy mammals.

A FULL-size Leedsichthys? You're really going to break the bank with that one! LOL  ;) ;D

If any of those three little fish get a big version in the future, my money would be on the Dunkleosteus. Especially because it offers the option of an articulated jaw.

I would love Collecta to provide deluxe versions of Dunkleosteus, Shonisaurus and Tylosaurus, all with movable jaw. They'd make a nice little collection of marine creatures with the upcoming Kronosaurus.

Dilopho

I think Uncle Dunkle might be a good option but I can't see a Leedsicthys. It would be a great figure (Collecta do great fish!) but it's not well known and I can't seem to think of a way they could make it look exciting.

Xiphactinus would be a perfect option in my opinion. It is popular enough, it looks intimidating and could incorporate an articulated jaw. We already have a lot of Dunks and thankfully the majority of them are pretty good.

With so many version on the market, Dunkleosteus is a proven model. It's basically the T. rex of fish; if you're doing a prehistoric fish, it's going to be that one. Collecta has yet to do one, so my money is on that showing up first, if anything.

With their track record of obscure species though, hopefully a hypothetical successful Dunkleosteus might encourage them to branch out even more.

I thought C. megalodon was the T.rex of fish.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

That´s right. Which actually brings out a question, Why there have not been Megalodon figures until very recently? Safari, PNSO and Favorite offerings are from recent years.

CityRaptor

Probably the same reason why Tarbosaurus does not have many figures. Just like Tarbosaurus might be considered too close to T.rex looking, C. megalodon ( Megalodon is a genus of bivalve, so calling the shark that is as wrong as calling T.rex T-Rex ) might be considered to close looking to a modern white shark. Indeed that is what nearly every C.megalodon figure looks like.

I'd totally snap up a C. megalodon from CollectA, especially if they gave it features and a colour scheme to make it NOT look like just a giant great white shark. But you know what I'd like even more? A Deluxe-class Livyatan mevillei.

yes I too would prefer a larger leeds or xiphactinus to a dunk.  I already have a dunk. Hasnt Collecta seen River Monsters? big toothy fish are scary!  :o

Yeah, I suppose C. megalodon is a little more famous, but it looks so much like a Great White, I don't expect to see it often in toy form. "Uncle Dunkle" takes the "T. rex slot" if you discount C. megalodon.

Blade-of-the-Moon

The best and only Meg I own is the PNO version..looks like more than just a Great White.

Same here, I would love a Livyatan!

I suppose that if they sell well or very well the new tube of prehistoric marine life of Collecta will make larger versions of these figures as it has happened with the deinocheirus of the same brand.

It is necessary to take into account the kindness and kindness of the company Collecta in the creation of figures of dinosaurs at the proposal of the clients and that they risk with this a lot of money in avant-garde figures that can also be an economic failure in terms of sales.

Keep in mind that the figures of Collecta and other toy companies are exclusively bought by children and they are the ones who are in charge of sales of figures of prehistoric animals and of animals in general. And I'm afraid that children (who are the totality of buyers) do not look at such avant-garde figures very much to my regret.

CMIPalaeo

When I were a lad, I'd have snapped up any really unusual prehistoric creature - I wish CollectA had been a thing back when I was an elementary schooler because I would have gone bananas over their weird species choices but not been too bothered by the quality - hey, they aren't cheapo Chinasaurs, at least, right? Of course quality is not much of an issue with their figures of the last couple of years *swoons*... They and Safari have really entered the same league, way out ahead of any other Western manufacturer, I'm afraid. Schleich used to have an advantage in extant animals but even that is going away now as CollectA and Safari continue to push forward. I really appreciate how many unusual creatures CollectA makes, long may they continue! Perhaps Safari might take a page from their book and throw out at least one or two really obscure taxa every year, eh? Not really their style, I suppose.
Once a man is tired of dinosaurs, he is tired of life; for there is in a dinosaur all that life can afford.

Well, if this year is any indication, Safari may be headed that way. Deinocheirus and Einiosaurus are relatively obscure by Safari's standards, and last year they made Masiakasaurus.

While is hard to match the amount of obscure taxa CollectA has released, Vagaceratops, Nasutoceratops, Diabloceratops, Monolophosaurus, Sauropelta and Gryposaurus are names that probably won't be recognized by most people outside the paleontology lovers.
