Styraco is not 1:40 scale, it was never labeled as such, just deluxe.
It is about the same size as the Papo triceratops.
It's is beautiful, the sculpting is excellent and the eyes looks so real.
For me, it has replaced the Battat as the best one in my collection 😀

Bokisaurus

Okay, so more photos of the new figures :)

I really love the ceratopsians, all of them! They are so beautiful and nicely sculpted. They are also much slimmer built than their predecessors.
The Excalibosaurus and Gigantspinosaur are both nice, the details on both are hard to capture in photos since they are both small figures and the details are very fine. They both can be appreciated more in person.
I will post more photos with comparison shots with other figures in the appropriate thread as well as in my own ceratopsian collection thread if you crave more photos :))

Jose S.M.

Thanks for the photos, the size of the Regaliceratops made me doubt about getting it but it looks really nice so I'm probably getting it anyway.

Neosodon

The Kronosaurus is good but I think like their 2015 Pliosaurus more. The Kronosaurus looks a little too flat but I'll have to have it in hand before I decide for sure.

I think I have a crush on the Regiliceratops. :-* Just everything about it looks good. I like it even more than safari's Einiosaurus.

I like the two tone camo on the Gigantspinosaurus. Nice to see a new model of a underrepresented group of dinoasaur.

"3,000 km to the south, the massive comet crashes into Earth. The light from the impact fades in silence. Then the shock waves arrive. Next comes the blast front. Finally a rain of molten rock starts to fall out of the darkening sky - this is the end of the age of the dinosaurs. The Comet struck the Gulf of Mexico with the force of 10 billion Hiroshima bombs. And with the catastrophic climate changes that followed 65% of all life died out. It took millions of years for the earth to recover but when it did the giant dinosaurs were gone - never to return." - WWD

The deinocheirus is fabulous, if last year's standard size was memorable, this deluxe is an out-of-series other than the success that will have that figure in the toy market at least as far as collectors.

The regaliceratops and einiosaurus are pretty good but I'll stick with the Safari einiosaurus I find more detailed and finished.

The kronosaurus is a beauty makes a good pair with the Safari 2017 and both are equally good. That yes every company with its philosophy.

The gigantspinosaurus is a very good figure although very colorful (Collecta in some figures has the habit of putting their dinosaur paintings of war), the orange color does not convince me but it is much better than the promotional photo.

The excalibosaurus is a large figure although its small size is very proportionate. I guess it will make a good team with the figures of the prehistoric tube of Collecta 2017 that is greatly appreciated.

But for me the star figure is styracosaurus is even much better than the promotional figures (and needless to say the rest can be said the same) is a very beautiful and detailed figure and apart from that a large figure next to the pentaceratops of Schleich is one of the first large figures of ceraptosides that have been made apart from the triceratops and that is appreciated.  8)

As I say in spite of being toy dinosaur figures Collecta together with Safari, Kaiyodo or Favorite Kinto to put some examples make quite scientific figures and that I appreciate it very much. That is without neglecting the other dinosaur companies whose figures are aimed at children or are based on figures of films both animation and science fiction and whose figures are also brilliant in their own way.

As a colophon I thank Bokisaurus for his photos other than collector is a magnificent photographer thing that we can not say the same at least in my case

Really like your photos Bokisaurus. So are not the deluxes to be huge but rather the standard size figures to be smaller than previous ones. If Regaliceratops and Einiosaurus are that small the level of detail and quality of the paint app is rather impressive. Would be fine to see comparisons with other Collectas (ceratopsians and Gastonia) and Papos (Triceratops and Styracosaurus).

Minor gripe for me are the Styracosaurus eyes, I'm kind of used to Collecta's plain black eyes so I would have preferred that model to be consistent with all other ceratopsians in the line. It is easy to fix if you want though, so I'm being nitpicky here.

And the Kronosaurus tongue looks way better than on Safari's model. I'd say Collecta got this detail much more credible.

ceratopsian

As always, beautiful photos that do the figures full justice.  They definitely help me finalise my decisions.  I'm looking forward to making my purchases in due course from Everything Dinosaur.

Is Minizoo the only place where to get the new Collectas at the moment?

I'll be damned, you're right. No scale is given. If it's the size of the Papo Trike, that might be more like 1:20. Glad to see that with at least some deluxe figures, they're dropping the scale claims. However, they do give 1:40 for the Kronosaurus, which I find pretty difficult to believe.

I have that Styracosaurus and can tell you that it is indeed 1/20 scale.
Judging by Bokisaurus' pictures,CollectA's Kronosaurus looks like it's exactly the same size as the 2017 Safari Ltd. version, making it about 1/30 scale. :)
Don't you hate it when you legitimately compliment someone's mustache and she gets angry with you?

Another impressive year for CollectA!  :)  That mini marine critter tube is a must-have!  And as much as I prefer the larger Safari Einiosaurus, I might just have to get this little one too, the sculpting is just too good.

Regarding the Dimorphodon: does anyone else think the eye is too large and maybe placed too far back on the head?  I suppose only more photos will tell.

I don't think so:

Looks like you found the inspiration for the CollectA figure's color scheme!

Dangit, now I wish it had those patterns on its wings. We need CollectA or Safari or someone to give us a pterosaur with fancy brachiopatagiums!

My package from Minizoo arrived this afternoon; I've posted some comparison shots in this thread:

The styracosaurus is large and perhaps the best ceratopsian distinct from the best triceratops species so far.

The regaliceratops regardless of what is done on a more realistic scale still seems small to me. Collecta every year is reducing more and more the standard figures of its figures, although the gigantspinosaurus is much better than its predecessors thyrophores shown on the screen.

Honestly even if they were not made to scale I would have preferred a regaliceratops and einiosaurus larger, in the style of Safari although they are very good figures being larger the figures are more detailed from the artistic point of view.

Ah, happy to be proven wrong!  :))  And it really does look like you've found its color inspiration, I agree that it would've looked a lot better with the patterned patagia.

After seeing Bokisaurus's photos, I'm just getting more and more anxious for these guys to arrive at Everything Dinosaur! I gotta snap up a couple! They look brilliant, and I'm actually kind of pleased that the Regaliceratops is around 1:40. I think it's a cute little figure. :)

We're approaching to april and still no european online retailer (which I'm aware of) has the new Collectas in stock. I wonder why the distribution is so scarce, seems that only Minizoo in Australia got them.

I was told in my shop that for a very short time they will have them after August but they are going to arrive at Christmas With that I tell you everything.

In fact in the Shop where I usually buy figures sold in Europe have not received today the latest news of Collecta 2016 still (ie deinocheirus standard, struthiomimus, andrewsarchus, thylacinus, thalassomedon deluxe and beishanlong deluxe. Figures I was forced to buy them to an online store.

I still have not been able to get the 2016 collecta releases anywhere. There is only one online store that sells collecta in the U.S so I just have to wait for the best. I hope they arrive in fall along with the 2017 ones.

I thought the issue was just a temporary regional problem. But now it appears to be a global problem. I really hope collecta can pull it together. I don't have the money to spend on rare brands I have to special order from collectors sites and over seas. :(
