We're approaching to april and still no european online retailer (which I'm aware of) has the new Collectas in stock. I wonder why the distribution is so scarce, seems that only Minizoo in Australia got them.

I was told in my shop that for a very short time they will have them after August but they are going to arrive at Christmas With that I tell you everything.

In fact in the Shop where I usually buy figures sold in Europe have not received today the latest news of Collecta 2016 still (ie deinocheirus standard, struthiomimus, andrewsarchus, thylacinus, thalassomedon deluxe and beishanlong deluxe. Figures I was forced to buy them to an online store.
I still have not been able to get the 2016 collecta releases anywhere. There is only one online store that sells collecta in the U.S so I just have to wait for the best. I hope they arrive in fall along with the 2017 ones.

I thought the issue was just a temporary regional problem. But now it appears to be a global problem. I really hope collecta can pull it together. I don't have the money to spend on rare brands I have to special order from collectors sites and over seas. :(

The only figures I actually like this year are the basilosaurus and the giganspinosaurus. The others are meh. The styraco looks too huge for me, deino is not needed, Unita.......erm, maybe I'll get this one, the dimorphodon is unfortunately too expensive, excalibosaurus is kinda boring for me, the kronosaurus looks wooden(aka I hate the color scheme), already getting an einiosaurus from WS, regali isn't at the top of my priorities(carnegies and collectAs are), and I'm unsure about the tube. Overall this is a weak year for collectA. 2014,2015,2016, slammed into the competition with amazing releases , this year it's kind of fading.

...excalibosaurus is kinda boring...

Oh no you didn't!

While I disagree in general (I think CollectA's offerings have only improved with each non-dinosaur they make year that passes), I also find the design for the Excalibosaurus kind of boring

Ichthyosaur toys in general are kind of boring. Just as dolphin toys tend to be.

I think the 2017 assortment is a wonderful step up from last year's theropod-heavy bunch. The ceratopsians in particular have greatly improved.

For me Basilosaurus, Excalibosaurus and Gigantspinosaurus are just ok, everything else is pretty much phenomenal. The only one I don't care for is the Deinocheirus, cause I don't like its design at all. Still the big issue is the availability.

What! You may not be particularly interested in the particular models they've released this year, but I'd say the offerings are a fantastic sign of Collecta's continued rise if nothing else. I may be biased, since I have the opposite impression, and intend to get most of this year's models.

My only complaint with collecta this year (not counting the whole distribution thing) is that there are no therapods. I could have really gone for something like a Carnotorus or Tarbosaurus but they made up for it last year with the Lythronax and Metricanthosaurus. But all the models they did make are nothing to complain about.

"3,000 km to the south, the massive comet crashes into Earth. The light from the impact fades in silence. Then the shock waves arrive. Next comes the blast front. Finally a rain of molten rock starts to fall out of the darkening sky - this is the end of the age of the dinosaurs. The Comet struck the Gulf of Mexico with the force of 10 billion Hiroshima bombs. And with the catastrophic climate changes that followed 65% of all life died out. It took millions of years for the earth to recover but when it did the giant dinosaurs were gone - never to return." - WWD

Unless, it happens to be birthing (e.g CollectA Temnodontosaurus).

Well I really like the deinocheirus for a simple reason is a version bigger than its standard figure and I value it a lot. I would also like them to make luxury versions of the rest of the prehistoric dinosaurs and animals of Collecta, especially those of their dark but obviously up-to-date (tsintaosaurus for example) and improved. It seems to me fabulous that Collecta has made a deluxe version of deinocheirus being larger the figure is more detailed.

Halichoeres

Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I thought this year was much better than 2016, precisely because it was fewer theropods. The ceratopsians were species known from more than two or three skull fragments, and the marine life mini tube that others have mentioned is likely to be my favorite product from them yet. And I like the Excalibosaurus, too!

Silvanusaurus

I find the releases this year to be just as underwhelming as any other from CollectA.

I fully agree with you.

The toob is a godsent. Safari seems to have quit making them, so am I glad Collecta steps in to fill that niche. And with such a diverse range of species too. The latter compliment covers their whole 2017 line-up anyway. They dare to take risks with virtually unknown species, something Safari or any of the other companies (except for PNSO, but I feel that's more driven by national pride) refuse this year (and formost of them, in general).

I really don't get this udden dislike for Collecta. They're the most innovative and scientifically correct company around in my mind. Cut them some slack, they deserve it more than most.

The only release from them this year that doesn't do much for me is the Deinocheirus, but only because they already produced one last year that looked almost identical, but smaller.

Agree, in the latest 4-5 years Collecta delivered the most plausible and overall scientifically accurate reconstructions of prehistoric animals in toy form. And they keep on improving.

I learned on the website of shop.modellpferdeversand.de that the first batch of collecta dinosaurs and prehistoric animals (einiosaurus, regaliceratops, gigantspinosaurus, excalibosaurus, kronosaurus Deluxe, deinocheirus Deluxe and styracosaurus Deluxe) will be in their online stores in April.

On the other hand the second round of dinosaurs and prehistoric animals of Collecta 2017 (uintatherium Deluxe, basilosaurus, dimorphodon Supreme Deluxe and tube of prehistoric marine creatures) will be available in the store in August. Therefore it will be necessary to wait until all the innovations are revealed with much patience.

It is the bad thing that almost all the companies that produce dinosaurs except Safari have. That their dinosaurs and prehistoric animals delay in releasing them very late and usually are released in two batches.

I understand that today in the only places where you can locate and buy the novelties of dinosaurs and prehistoric animals of Collecta is in the online stores. In traditional stores unfortunately take twice as long in regards to their marketing. A bit of the same happens with Papo (in fact in my nation the products have passed to another distributor since the one that took it closed or broke).

am I the only one that doesnt mind delays because Im so behind in my collecting/buying that the wait actually helps?

The Collecta distribution issues sucks though.

Oh yeah. ::) But it is just a smaller version of one of last years models so it hardly counts as a new realese.

It may be the same animal, but it's still a different sculpt from the standard version. It counts!
