For some reason, the aquatic tube is not listed with the other upcoming toys on Minizoo. Ah well, I guess they'll list it when they get it.

Minizoo sells the individual figures from the two current ones, so I would assume that's why it isn't listed.

Browsing the internet at http://sts-forum.forumieren.de/t18379-2017-collecta-by-blog-naver-com I have found a lot of relative photos among other figures to the dimorphodon deluxe Collecta, uinthaterium deluxe Collecta, basilosaurus Collecta And the woodpecker beetle (presumably extinct) of Collecta. I pass the links. I have found it interesting to share them.

http://blog.naver.com/collecta/220952129670 (dimorphodon Collecta) link photos
http://blog.naver.com/collecta/220960256155 (Collecta basilosaurus) link photos
http://blog.naver.com/collecta/220968036966 (uintatherium Collecta) link photos
http://blog.naver.com/collecta/220957681587 (woodpecker peak of ivory) link photos

By the way come from an Asian store and look more detailed than in promotional photography.

Thanks for sharing those links.

The lipless-ness of the basilosaurus annoys me a little, but the barnacles are a nice touch.
IMO it would've looked better if it's mouth was closed.

Thanks for sharing Shonisaurus. Looks like an overview of the entire 2017 line, including non-prehistorics. I wonder why Korea gets always those cool previews. The Basilosaurus does not impress me, I don't like the head sculpt and the slim body choice, but both Dimorphodon and Uintatherium look fantastic. That pterosaur is this year's everybody's must have.

I totally agree with you as far as uintatherium and dimorphodon are concerned. I think they are exceptional figures.

I'm not convinced either, the basilosaurus does not look as good as I figured, it has details, but the mouth and jaws are not very well finished. I am left without buying it for the price and size with the PNSO. But what I have said is simple appreciation.

Regarding uintatherium I like, although I fear that the size will not be the same as andrewsarchus and megacerops to put two examples and that this year is not made to scale although it is very precipitate what I say as we do not yet have it physically And we can not compare it with other figures. It is more finished than you could expect in your promotional photo. What I have noticed is somewhat tabby and that does not fit me for an animal similar to the pachyderms (although they are not of that family since they belong to an extinct family) like the elephant, rhinoceros or hippopotamus. Otherwise it is a great figure.

On the other hand the dimorphodon is the main dish of that second group. To me personally as I pointed out in the previous paragraphs I think a large figure even much more detailed than the guidraco (ultimately have exceeded with respect to his previous figure of pterosaurus).

On the other hand I thank to the members of the forum that could have served as my links of photos from an oriental store taken from sts-forum.

Finishing thanks to Reptilia for contributing the photo of Collecta 2017 group.

Ive noticed that their trend with the prehistoric mammals lately has been to make them larger. I dont know if its that they think they are more popular with collectors and not the general public so they make them larger so they can charge more. I personally would prefer them in a smaller size so you can display them alongside their extant mammals and the smaller prehistoric mammals from Safari & Schleich/Bullyland.

Im not a fan of the basilosaurus head either, its so reptilian looking.

the dimorphodon is outstanding! I just wish it were smaller. :(

I am happy with it's size, I mean it could go goes as a 1:1 if you take it for a juvenile :D ...

Despite Dimorphodon being one of the rarer Pterosaurs approached by toy companies, the last years have seen the great Safari version aswell as Rebor's which are, despite some inaccuracies, outstanding aswell. From the photos I've seen of the CollectA version however, this one looks as a "perfect" rendition of that interesting species. It is my no1 for this year hands down.

It seems like almost everybody is making things larger. I would have preferred a smaller Dimorphodon as well, but Lanthanotus's comment (for example) suggests that you and I are in the minority!

Silvanusaurus

The Dimorphodon is very impressive, possibly the best CollectA figure I've ever seen. The Basilosaurus looks like a very sick rat that tried to become a snake.

Larger figures are more expensive. True.
But it will also be more expensive for a toy company to make them.
More plastic, volume, weight, paint, shipping costs etc.
So I really doubt CollectA has found a way to make large figures for the same price as making small ones, just so they can just charge more.

That Dimorphodon IS outstanding though.  ^-^

Styraco is not 1:40 scale, it was never labeled as such, just deluxe.
It is about the same size as the Papo triceratops.
It's is beautiful, the sculpting is excellent and the eyes looks so real.
For me, it has replaced the Battat as the best one in my collection

I'll be damned, you're right. No scale is given. If it's the size of the Papo Trike, that might be more like 1:20. Glad to see that with at least some deluxe figures, they're dropping the scale claims. However, they do give 1:40 for the Kronosaurus, which I find pretty difficult to believe.

Everything Dinosaur at least has been saying the Styracosaurus is in 1:40 scale:

The first of the new for 2017 CollectA models are now in stock at Everything Dinosaur.  We have Excalibosaurus, Einiosaurus, Gigantspinosaurus plus in the Deluxe range the 1:40 scale Deinocheirus, Kronosaurus (with moveable jaw) and our personal favourite the 1:40 scale Styracosaurus.

All the new models are up on the front page of our website in the "New Arrivals" section: New CollectA at Everything Dinosaur

Quote from: Everything_Dinosaur on November 04, 2016, 08:41:27 AM
The CollectA Deluxe Styracosaurus is listed at 1:40 scale, but the size range estimates for Styracosaurus albertensis do vary quite a bit from around 4.5 metres to over 6 metres in length and we have yet to verify the exact length of the model.  The official measurement is 23.5 cm as stated in our blog article, but we have been told that the figure may be a bit longer than this, so calculating the scale is somewhat problematical at the moment.

It's marketed as being in 1:40 scale on Everything Dinosaur too: https://www.everythingdinosaur.com/product/collecta-deluxe-styracosaurus/

I was reminded of this when seeing that group photo where the 5.5m long Styracosaurus appears to be almost the same size as the 11m long Deinocheirus, both of which have been said to be in 1:40 scale.  The incorrect scale of the Styracosaurus was even discussed in this thread from 2016 started by Everything Dinosaur: http://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=5101.0

The Dimorphodon looks like it might win figure of the year.

After purchasing the outstanding (at least I think so) PNSO Basilosaurus, it's difficult to consider any other version.

Neosodon

The almost life size Dimorphadon is a cool idea and I like it but I don't think I will get it for practical reasons. It is just to bulky and expensive and just wouldn't scale well with the rest of my collection.

"3,000 km to the south, the massive comet crashes into Earth. The light from the impact fades in silence. Then the shock waves arrive. Next comes the blast front. Finally a rain of molten rock starts to fall out of the darkening sky - this is the end of the age of the dinosaurs. The Comet struck the Gulf of Mexico with the force of 10 billion Hiroshima bombs. And with the catastrophic climate changes that followed 65% of all life died out. It took millions of years for the earth to recover but when it did the giant dinosaurs were gone - never to return." - WWD
