Well, but Chinasaur is the established term. Even if you can't get more chinese than PNSO...

Exactly. It's like saying, "It's not a Kleenex, it's a tissue paper!" Everyone knows what a Kleenex is. PNSO is definitely turning the Chinese toy industry on its head in terms of quality though. In my lifetime China has been the eponymous purveyor of cheap low quality toys. A generation earlier Hong Kong claimed that title. What's next, Vietnam?

Next? I've read somewhere that at least Hasbro is producing in India now. So that might be the next thing.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Cool! India certainly has a lot of potential.

China has been producing good quality figures (same quality as the major western brands) through the years but they are more of exception rather than the rule. the nation is more known for cheap, run of the mill toys (in general). i doubt other countries like India will follow China's footsteps because China is the biggest producer of plastic toys in the whole planet. hopefully, PNSO will elevate and set the standard of quality of the animal toy figures produced in China now and the coming years.

Yes, PNSO has certainly put a new angle on the term "Chinasaur"!!!!!

Hey... you do realize most toys are made in China, right? And not all of them are bad quality...

Yes, yes! What I meant was the cheaply made dinosaurs that come in bulk in those plastic bags!  ^-^

Isn't collecta a completely Chinese company?

"3,000 km to the south, the massive comet crashes into Earth. The light from the impact fades in silence. Then the shock waves arrive. Next comes the blast front. Finally a rain of molten rock starts to fall out of the darkening sky - this is the end of the age of the dinosaurs. The Comet struck the Gulf of Mexico with the force of 10 billion Hiroshima bombs. And with the catastrophic climate changes that followed 65% of all life died out. It took millions of years for the earth to recover but when it did the giant dinosaurs were gone - never to return." - WWD

No, I think it's UK.

#52
i think he was referring to Mojo Fun and confusing it with CollectA since there's a connection between the two major brands

EDIT - oh wait, wasnt it Safari Ltd who sued CollectA for claiming to be a British company but actually Chinese? anyone, correct me if i am wrong, i am thoroughly confused.

so should everyone refer to CollectA as a (officially and conclusively) Chinese (HK) company?

It sounds like that would be accurate.

sauroid

if that's the case then we have three high quality and active Chinese companies in our midst. PNSO, CollectA and Mojo (this one needs verification). iToy isnt prolific enough to be included in that league.

I wouldn't include Mojo either, they still make great spiders, but their other animals (let alone their sad excuse for dinosaurs) aren't up to par.

Sadly, that's correct. Mojo makes fine extant animals (I own a few of their big cats and find them quite good), not to mention great extinct mammals, yet their dinosaurs...

I do like the Allosaurus they are releasing this year, however, so let's hope that it is a sign of new and improving changes!  :)
