I like the godzilla 2000 design or Tokyo S.O.S thr most. I think that has the best looks from not looking like the big and fat legged barney to also having those massive spikes that look much cooler than any other godzilla. Although i still like Heisei series Godzilla especially since it gave us SpaceGodzilla which is the most powerful Kaiju in Toho's Universe. Well aside from Monster X/Kaiser Ghidorah and Destoroyah

I like the new designs for Mothra and Rodan, even though Mothra's design is even based on a different species I think it's fine since a luna moth will probably convey her role as "the good one" a lot more easily to an unfamiliar audience.

While I'm definitely excited, I can't help but be a little disappointed the SDCC trailer showed us so little. So dark, I could hardly see and thought I was watching Stargate Universe for a second ;)

I'm incredibly excited for these new movies. Both Monsterverse movies have been fantastic in my eyes, easily beating a good 80% of the Toho flicks (sorry if that's a bit blasphemous), but i'm especially ecstatic for Godzilla vs Kong. The original is probably one of my favorites of the showa series, and if even a sliver of the last 20 minutes of that movie's balls-to-the-wall mental action scenes makes it in it'll be a dream come true. I request anyone suspicious about the idea to check the movie out and be thoroughly entertained in the most idiotic way.

Though the plot summaries of King of the Monsters are really worrying me, having the Kaiju be released by a crazy ecoterrorist kind of undermines the whole "man is tiny next to nature" message.

EDIT: I also hope to high heavens that Toho is nicer than Kadokawa and lets Legendary renew the license. I know there is the fear of the American and Japanese films competing, but given that Shin Godzilla raked in about 2 million in the states (which is a lot for a foreign film), I hope Toho realized the two franchises can co-exist.

Unless Legendary's Godzilla films end up massive box office bombs, it'll definitely get renewed. There's not really potential for the franchises to compete; the Legendary films open on a much wider scale than Toho's, which open widely in Japan and then get limited release overseas. 2014 Godzilla was all over the place, but Shin Godzilla was only in one theatre in my city for like a week.

Plus Toho gets money either way.

I want SpaceGodzilla and Destoroyah and Gigan in the monsterverse. Idk how they could fit in SpaceGodzilla without it breaking the earthy feel of the monsterverse though

I don't know, if the Kemono Friends controversy taught me anything it's that Japanese companies are rather stubborn and prefer sticking to tradition over money.

The only controversy I recall over Kemono friends was the director being fired from season 2, what are you referring to?

Toho has said fairly recently they're making an effort to be more open to unconventional licensing and usage of the Godzilla branding, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see if they meant it.

GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS---the Warner Bros. Monarch Sciences website used geographic sites to hint at other monsters that might appear in the sequel. Scotland (Loch Ness Monster), Australia (Shinomura), Wyoming (Obsidius, Rodan), Siberia (1959 Siberian Mystery), Peru (Mothra) and the Bermuda Triangle (Hedorah).

I thought obsidious was a fan made or fan voted kaiju for Godzilla Unleashed Video Game not an actual Kaiju to Toho same with Krystallak

Nessie? Haha, we can only hope. And hey, why not?

GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS---sequel photo released shows Ghidorah's foot which has longer clawed toes than the original Ghidorah.

GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS---director Mike Dougherty released a photo from the sequel with the Biblical caption, "Nothing on earth is its equal— a creature without fear. It looks down on all that are haughty; it is king over all that are proud."

I know an excellent Spanish paleontologist and a better person who is José Luis Sanz who alludes to this type of film in one of his books.

Honestly those films have their hook especially among the Japanese public.

Some figures for the 4 main Kaiju of the upcoming film have been revealed.

I'm only interested in one, but I'm still putting it under a spoiler tag for the members who are trying to avoid all manner of spoilers.

I just gonna say, I love how Ghidorah turned out to be, looks really imposing. Since this movie was announced Ghidorah has been the only reason why I want to see this film. I can't wait to see it with a "photo-realistic" appearance.
Spoiler

I really like how they made the wings, using more dragon like wings but with those extra bits on the bottom to homage the typical wings of Ghidorah.

They've definitely remained faithful to the original designs, which is good. I hope Ghidorah receives a decent amount of screen time on his own as opposed to just fighting Godzilla. To establish him as a true villain, they need to show him annihilating an entire city.

These designs look great to me! Here's hoping the movie will actually be good. I rarely dislike any film as much as I disliked the last one.

Well, if we're going with recent memory than you're seriously not taking into account the train wreck that was Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom? XD

I haven't actually been able to find a compelling reason to watch that one (yet)!
