The scientific term is that should be applied is "bilateral gynandromorphs" - animals that are quite literally, half male and half female.

I may not like feathered dinosaurs and stumpy legged Spinosaurs, but I will keep those opinions to myself, I will not start a debate over it, I promise. 😇

Corosaurus? I guess there weren't aware of the sauropterygian that goes by that name.

Could be just a cover name.  You go around saying D-REX and Diablos Rex people will notice.. lol

Corosaurus is real, just not a lot is known about it.

I just mean for the film or the artist sharing his work in this case.

Am I missing something? Or is JW using an obscure reptiles name for a movie monster?

A lot is known about it. Glen Storrs wrote a whole volume about its anatomy and relationships in 1991, a study built upon later by Olivier Rieppel in 1998. It is one of the best known nothosaurs. Anyway, back on topic...

I'm still not convinced by the concept of imaginary 'dinosaurs'.

Seems from what I've read the artist of that one sculpt called it Corosaurus? Maybe just to throw off people from realizing it was a D-REX concept.

They did that for transformers three, called a concept "cyclonus" even though it was clearly megatron.

What's so funny?  ???

Not really " funny " since I used " heh" of something like " lol " and/or smilies but this is what I was thinking of this :

Malcolm's " there it is " quote. Kinda ironic in a JP thread..just me probably. ;)

I'm a bit of a new member here (hence no fancy icon or sig), I've lurked around for a few years, but as a fellow JP fan, I feel the need to step in and say something because I can't believe the amount of whining and complaining I've witnessed on this thread alone (and horrid grammar to boot). If you guys can't handle the naked, trainable raptors (it's a zoo/theme park) or the D-Rex (which makes perfect sense if anyone has read about the film and why it's done in the storyline), there's a simple solution: don't see the movie! You guys are sitting here poised and ready to rip into any new photo or set piece that get's revealed, and it's really tiring. Or did I miss something and that was the entire point of the thread (in that case, rename it to "Jurassic Park 4 [Jurassic World] Criticism")?

Also I'm 28, and a life-long lover of dinosaurs (from about age 2, I'm not kidding), for anyone who might be curious.

I'll go back to lurking now, you guys have a nice day.

Or did I miss something and that was the entire point of the thread (in that case, rename it to "Jurassic Park 4 [Jurassic World] Criticism")? Or perhaps someone can direct me to a forum where people have more of a passion for Jurassic Park and not this obvious hatred? I really honestly can't tell if you guys are pining for a straight up by-the-book adaptation of Michael Crichton's Jurassic Park or just an overhaul of what we have, just everything being ridiculously fluffy. There wasn't a single feathered dinosaur in WWD, and everyone just continues to sing its praises.

(By the way, I used to be a hard-core, firm believer of feathers, I really did. Then I did some research, which I think more people ought to do instead of being blind sheep and just believing whatever you hear just because "some scientists" said this or claimed that. Not enough people do their own research, they just accept what they're told and then that becomes "it". Also, you guys need spoiler tags. I understand this kind of information can be sensitive to some  ::) )

I'm not trying to troll. I know what trolling looks like and I know it's a real nuisance, and I hate trolls. There's so much negativity and whining in this thread that it's gotten ridiculous and I felt the need to step in and say something. This is also the internet and my words are probably going to ruffle your hypothetical proto feathers and will most likely not fix anything. I will say that I am looking forward to this film, and when someone from the set steps in to say it's in good hands, the hands of a big fan of the franchise — I believe them. I was 7 years old when the first film premiered in theaters. I hated JP3 (not the dinosaurs, but mostly the execution; the entire movie played out very awkwardly), and I look forward to Colin Trevorrow's vision.

Also I'm 28, and a life-long lover of dinosaurs (from about age 2, I'm not kidding), for anyone who might be curious.

Listen you, you need to understand that this so called d rex is a blimish on the jp franchise, a blimish no amount of make up can cover. If allowed to make it to the screen, do you know what it will do to dinosaurs? No longer will dinosaurs be seen as animals, but as Godzilla type monsters or even dragons. The jp brand will be doomed! Tyrannosaurus needs to be the Dino king! Not Spinosaurus or this Hollywood freak!

lol I think you meant blemish....( bad grammar :D ^-^) ha

and I think he meant gets not get's?
Authors with varying competence have suggested dinosaurs disappeared because of meteorites...God's will, raids by little green hunters in flying saucers, lack of standing room in Noah's Ark, and palaeoweltschmerz—Glenn Jepsen
