amargasaurus cazaui

The holotype itself is one of the main specimens in question as it has three seperate sections to it and the cranial portions have all but been proven to belong a primitive crocodilian. The post cranial elements are considered likely a therapod dinosaur of some sort however. Since then it has become a jumbled mess with very little for certain.

No wonder they need a paleontologist as a dinosaur consultant on these movies. Even though they're clearly not listening to him. ::)
Think the issue there is not wether they listened to him so much as who it was...surprised the Tyrannosaur was even allowed to hunt or eat a thing.

Seriously, what happened to Jack Horner? He found Maiasaura, which did a lot for advancing our understanding of dinosaur behaviour, but since then the ideas he's proposed have been obvious publicity stunts (look at all the controversy over Toroceratops).

They've really jumped the dinosharktopus if this is what they had in mind...

Ah, I'd probably go see it anyway, the Trike-thing reminds me of the hell knight from Doom.

Aw, man, I posted in the wrong thread. Well, while I am here, can I agree that The Lost World: Jurassic Park was a pretty dumb movie while admitting that the I find "T. rex in San Diego" sequence to be great fun to watch?

The San Diego scene was great I thought, one of the best parts of the film and honestly a lot more believable than a lot of other scenes in the movie. I'm still wondering how a locked up Tyrannosaurus killed the crew of that ship though. It couldn't have been the baby as they specifically mention he was flown in by helicopter.  While we're complaining about TLW I also have serious problems with the Compsognathus attack scene, there is no way I would let myself get killed by a dozen chicken sized animals. I would be grabbing those damn things and beating them to death with their own kind.

I was reading an article on film plot holes, and it turns out this one has an answer that was cut out of the movie

Apparently, the filmmakers originally intended to have a bunch of Velociraptors sneak aboard the ship and wipe out the crew. However, the idea was ultimately dropped, probably because they figured that after seeing one of the raptors get killed by a little girl doing gymnastics, the audience could no longer take them seriously. The dead crew angle was never rewritten, though, so we're left to assume that the Tyrannosaurus either has mutant powers or is a spirited practical joker

I remember thinking it was odd but at the same time I figured the Rex got loose and ate the crew except one last guy who with his dying effort managed to seal the Rex up after another crewman ran down into the hold to escape.

Something that was said in an Austin Powers movie sums it up nicely:
(To Austin Powers'concerns of time travel and continuity problems it may cause,Nigel says "It's best not to worry about such things and sit back and enjoy the ride.(he then turns to the audience) And that goes for you all too."
;D
Don't you hate it when you legitimately compliment someone's mustache and she gets angry with you?

Blade-of-the-Moon

I'll be more impressed when I actually see production pics, a trailer or even a poster.  If they are aiming for a June 2014 release date they have just over a year..so they better get on the ball.. here's hoping for a teaser on JP3D .

It's pretty standard practice.  Studios stake out the release dates for their tentpoles way in advance to warn each other off certain dates and as a means of nailing down production/budget schedules, etc.  The date seldom changes, if there are problems meeting it, it's likely the film itself that's going to end up suffering (though, really, this is a pretty standard turnaround time for these types of movies nowadays too).  All we can do is cross our fingers, but if the trades are announcing a date, it's basically a done deal.  We're getting a new JP movie next June.

True but us JP fans have had our hopes dashed a bit too often..so I kinda pessimistic there.  ;)

Hasbro has some good unused sculpts lying around already, it's very likely they'll use those after all. At least, I dearly hope so, since I have no interest in even more lame-ass JP III repaints. Got enough of those already.  ::)

It seems JP IV is finally going to happen this time. I remain skeptical (can't be anything else after over a decade of nothing), but hey, at least we still get JP 3D regardless.

docronnie

Since I don't own... well I recently got one (micro Trex) .... any JP repaints would be a welcome addition to my collection.  :)
