No Smilodon that I can see...though they do describe the Mosa as a dino.

metriacanthosaurus is from the first novel if I recall..so are many of the other species on the list. Colin is a big JP fan so he's going back to the first book for many ideas.

I think Bary and Sucho are there as they were on Ingen's list per Grant and Billy's exchange in JP3.  The Spino is lord of Sorna and I think that's fine..it's bigger than Rex and really it's a monster moreso than many of the others. Probably a good thing not to have on an island full of people.

The Raptors are being studied somewhere so they aren't on display.

The D-Rex is a new creation so no exhibit for it as of yet.

That said we don't know what all is in the fenced off area that is the old Park.

Interesting but it doesn't necessarily mean we'll see the species mentioned. Anyone remember this?

Wow, I never noticed that they spelt Stegosaurus Wrong until now

It's a bit odd that they would have both Bary and Sucho on display, given how similar those are. One would think that they would go for a wider variety of Dinosaurs.

It's also interesting that Brachiosaurus is not on the list.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

I really like the new dinosaur species. But instead suchomimus and pteranodon I preffered an Allosaurus and Cearadactylus.

What's the d rex, is that the cuttleboatyrant that was hinted about a while back?

P.s. Trex would whoop spino's tail!
I may not like feathered dinosaurs and stumpy legged Spinosaurs, but I will keep those opinions to myself, I will not start a debate over it, I promise. 😇

yah, diabolus rex and indominus rex are both trademarked by Universal, and diabolus rex was confirmed

What, what? I'm confused, so we're going to see genetic mashups in the next movie? Like those human dog raptor mercenaries they had planned?

Really? So in the years since they were abandoned, the dinosaurs of nublar and sorna hybridized?

From the horse's mouth:

QuoteThe name of this new super predator is officially known as Diabolus Rex or "D-Rex" for short. The creature is a spliced breed of Tyrannosaur with bits of Raptor and Cuttle Fish, allowing it to camouflage itself with its surroundings. It's a badass and is the primary reason why things at this new park run amok.

QuoteReally? So in the years since they were abandoned, the dinosaurs of nublar and sorna hybridized?
No, it was genetic tampering.

Chaos effect the movie? Guest starring the fuzors! Ha ha.

I can see D rex now... Around the mouth will be finger like protections for tasting the air, the feet will have a two foot long sickle claw, long rope shaped fleshy types can shoot out of the nose to grab prey as they try to run.

It says they have both..doesn't mean we'll see both. Recall the flyover from JP3 ? Could be in shots like that.

Metriacanthosaurus is an allosaur so that works for me and it's canon.  I would have liked a Cearadactylus though.

So I finally got around to watching "Safety Not Guaranteed" on Netflix. This is the only film directed thus far by "Jurassic World" director Colin Trevorrow. It was a fantastic movie, I really enjoyed it. It really gives me hope for "Jurassic World" and I can see why they're trusting him to direct it. That said, it is his only film so far and we very well cannot judge a director on one film alone. Even Spielberg has some stinkers (I'm looking at you "The Lost World").

Has anyone else seen "Safety Not Guaranteed" yet? What did you think of it? How does it make you feel about "Jurassic World"? One thing I will say is this; if Colin Trevorrow fails to produce a good movie with "Jurassic World" I think he'll have a hard time landing directing gigs in the future. This is no doubt a make or break deal.

I saw it and it didn't do much for me - visually or narratively. But I'm difficult to please.  >:D

I loved SNG. It was a delightfully quirky movie with good acting throughout and a fine balance between comedy and drama. Goodhearted, sympathetic movie overall, but not mindboggingly inventive or something.

This of interest to y'all?:

I can't really comment on Trevorrow's previous film because I don't watch television..but that is reassuring to know. I mean, it could be worse- it's not like Ewe Boll is directing or anything.

But I wonder if a film's success as a whole has more to it than just the choice of director. People say that JP3 sucked because of Joe Johnston, but I don't think he is the only one to blame. There was more to it than that.
