Aw, no!! I hope it's just a blip. ED said they have been overwhelmed with interest in the Eofauna Giga and the Vitae range...I'm yet to hear back from them since emailing to request a reservation on the Giga. Hopefully they're just busy?!

I don't mean to be a debby downer, but, I mean, if it was just a website or server issue I feel like they'd have no problem telling us :/ An overwhelmed server isn't really embarrassing or weird. ED has usually never been one for secrets. A short while ago I asked them how many Kaiyodo Rex's were made (because they were being marketed as 'limited') and they told me that they weren't really allowed to tell me the number, but gave me hints as to how many were left as well as letting me know that ED were offered the remaining stocks. So yeah, ED, not really the secretive type....

Vitae have been strangely quiet on FB, too. I hope they're not doing a PNSO!!

(I don't know enough about Vitae or the likelihood of what you said being true to make a more informed reply, so instead just have a reaction gif)

I don't care that I'm double posting, I just got this message

VITAE WHY!!???!

Why you gotta do this to me? :(

Text version, for anyone who can't see the image:

"I noted your message on Facebook regarding Vitae models, so I am writing in you in person.

Unfortunately, we have encountered technical issues and as such we will not be able to bring the Vitae figures into the United Kingdom.

This is disappointing, but I am sure you can understand given the complexity of international trade, that periodically, unforeseen circumstances arise that curtail business opportunities.

I'm more sorry for ED though, they hyped this up... for nothing. Let's hope the damage control is minimal.

Hmm, this does seem fishy  ::)  If this does indeed turn out to be because of unforeseen circumstances, well, what else do I have to say, apart from 'I told you so!'  8)  (Although I do think that is still a bit premature at this point).

avatar_Ravonium @Ravonium 'spose you can go ahead and say it now :P

Fembrogon

It sounds like Vitae needs to get their act together. In the meantime, I'll go bask in Eofauna's growing glory... :P

Syndicate Bias

Well RIP, at least you got the Eofauna Giganotosaurus to look forward to

Minmiminime

Aw, no :-[ This is bad news indeed! I wonder what it is with Vitae that they just can't get their act together?! First Modellpferdeversand, then Minizoo, now ED. What a shame! They show so much promise, they could be a really legitimate, popular line. Thank you for sharing this information avatar_IrritatorRaji @IrritatorRaji

What in the world is happening?
Newly imposed international tariffs? Or just Vitae being a stickler for profit margins?

In any case, anyone living in the US can still reliably get them on Aliexpress.

Syndicate Bias

Most likely prices dispute. I dont think negotiations tend to go south this many times unless it's about high prices

That also goes for Europe, Germany at least. While it would be somewhat more comfortable to have a "local", national retailer, prices for individual figures are probably the same, maybe even lower if the parcel for higher priced figures gets through Customs unhindered.

Halichoeres

A while back a couple of small-scale retailers tried to stock Joy City products, but Joy City wanted a minimum order of 2,400 pieces, so it never ended up happening. I wonder if Vitae is making similar demands. Even Everything Dinosaur, which I think is one of the larger dino sellers, wouldn't be able to buy and store that kind of quantity.

If that's what has happened, I'm disappointed they haven't learned after the first two attempts with international retailers ::) I would be surprised though, I'd assumed there would have to be contracts in place before any announcements relating to future retail were made? Whatever it is they're doing to cause these repeated failures, they are somewhat shooting themselves in the foot! Never mind. Hopefully the retailer on AliExpress i placed my order with will be reasonable about replacing or refunding it when it inevitably doesn't arrive by the 14th

I mean, you know what they say, third time's the charm... except, this time it wasn't... but hey, you can't really blame 'em for trying. I want to say that I hope Vitae is learning from these experiences, but I honestly can't say that with any confidence.

Arent they affiliated with Monster House? Isn't MHHK known for being very opportunistic with prices? I thought they made their models off of MHHK's factory

acro-man

No. MHHK doesn't have a factory.
And it's too arbitary to judge whose fault it is, given the insufficient clues.

Flaffy

Why would a small eBay seller have control over an entire factory?  ;)

MHHK is just a retailer.

Syndicate Bias

Long story short vitae told me that in messenger but I think it might have been a translation issue lol

Shonisaurus

I had the illusion that an online dinosaur toy company would have it in this case everythingdinosaur.co.uk so I see it will have to be bought in eBay or Amazon online stores, preferably in Asia.

Obviously I am going to buy the most affordable Vitae figure you can find in any of the online stores. You can always find cheaper Vitae figures in Asia than you think you have to investigate and you will surely find one of the dinosaur figures that you want. But I hope that one day there will be a company in Europe in my case that sells those figures that are the most nice.

Fembrogon

I gave in and went to AliExpress to purchase the Chilantaisaurus and Wuerhosaurus; I feel like they're probably a little overpriced, but the temptation to add two unique genera to my collection proved too great. I look forward to their arrival.

Minmiminime

Best of luck! I am still awaiting mine, though positively, there has suddenly been an update to the tracking information after nothing whatsoever for nearly 7 weeks ::)
