I'm not sure how I feel about the large increase in scale size near the edges of the mouth.
Looks SUPER unnatural. I mean, even more so than most of Rebor's sculpting.

In fact as commented on Rebor facebook is based on the figure of dinosaur evolved from the Island of the Skull ie the vastatosaurus. It has nothing to do with a tyrannosaurus but fortunately they are going to make a scientific version of vinyl. For my part I am going to buy these two figures for my passion as a collector.

The two tyrannosaurus rex "Vanilla Ice" versions "Jungle" and "Mountain" are now available at www.everythingdinosaur.co.uk I've given you the links,

Tyrannosaurus rex "Vanilla Ice" mountain version:

Tyrannosaurus rex "Vanilla Ice" jungle version:

I suppose that in the rest of online stores will be the fall of the sale of these two figures. For my part, I have already bought them and I honestly do not regret it, although I am looking forward to the Titanoboa and the Tyrannosaurus rex, two versions of January.

Sincerely I like all the figures of dinosaurs and prehistoric animals especially the scientific figures but nevertheless I could not resist to buy the tyrannosaurus rex (Vanilla Ice) of Rebor in its two versions.

It is a beautiful Awesomebro figure clearly inspired in the vastatosaurus rex of the King Kong film I do not regret having ordered it and bought everything from everythingdinosaur.co.uk, my order is on the way, I will arrive at my address next week with a bit of luck .

Die_Maulquappe

I hope they will be sold on amazon in a few weeks like the akylosaurus was.

I mean ... the entire *old stuff* of rebor is sold on amazon with a normal price... euro.

Even now with normal £ prices ...i will pay more for shipping too europe.

I received my Vanilla Ice (Mountain) today. It's a really nice figure with good heft to it. Also, WOW are the teeth sharp too. Awesome! 8)

Also, it's a bit bigger then I was expecting. I really like this piece. It really plays to REBOR's strength ie movie monster.

By the way, you have noticed the teeth that Rebor's vastatosaurus has, or rather Rebor's tyrannosaurus are very hard, I have tried to touch them and I can assure you that they are pricked and hurt when you press the fingertips on them. They have made a very faithful representation of the tyrannosaurus (vastatosaurus) of the "Island of the Skull" since the vastatosausus is an evolved species of tyrannosaurus rex with very hard evolved teeth. It is a perfect figure. It's a masterpiece by Rebor.

This makes me pretty excited for killer queen

Yes I did notice how sharp the teeth are. I mentioned it in my above post.  8)

Seems to be in the same class as the recent JP inspired Raptors. Nothing wrong with that, catering to the fanboys among the dinosaur aficionados. B

Heck, there's plenty of excellent T-Rexes out there, but less than a handful of decent V-Rexes for the Kong lovers. And none of those are particularly affordable.

But yeah, they should not call it a T-Rex with a look like this.

They named it T-rex because the name V-Rex is not public domain.
Shrek 4 is an underrated masterpiece

Would it be possible for Mauro "Raptor86" to update the original post like the rest of the threads in this forum?

cooksonia

Yes they are the V rexes from King Kong as others have already noted. Nicely posed to attack Kong as per the movie. Can see why Rebor have not called them V rex though. Tiny beady eyes and snaggle teeth all present and correct.

Anyone got one yet? Are they are worthwhile buy, I'm a big fan of Peter Jackson's Kong so would be very interested.

D @Derek.McManus This is literally better than most of the official licensed representations of the Vastatosaurus rex, check out some video reviews if you need any reassurance. And for the price of $45, it's a no brainer.

My post above answers your question too. It's a great figure.
