Interesting article by David Hone. Makes sense. It's probably why the nostrils we so high up on Pteranodon and other sea fairing pterosaurs. Also, when I read the article, I was automatically reminded of this video:

I have never thought of Pterosaurs "floating" like ducks anyway.
