Of course, the feathered tyrannosaurus of Kinto / Favorite limited edition is very beautiful. I'm sorry it's resin. I would like a PVC version.

Anyway my congratulations BrontoScorpio.

Long I have been searching for this item -
Sega Vignetteum Great dinosaurs ( セガ  大恐竜 ヴィネッティアム ) siries Amargasaurus, Prototyped by Hirokazu Tokukawa ( 徳川広和 ) :

And out of the box with another Amargasaurus friens :

There are 3 items in that sirie :
The Amargasaurus Prototyped by Hirokazu Tokukawa.
and a T-rex and a Triceratops with baby - Prototyped by Takeuchi Shinzen.

- The artist talking about this model.
- Here's a short list by the artist talking about THIS SEIRE.
- And here's a REFERENCE for some of his more common works.

For some reason the Amargasaurus has proven to be much more elusive and hard to get  than the other two :
maybe it's because the sculp is much more appealing and demanded by collectors -
In any case, it took me way much more time to get it than expected -
Maybe there is somewhere a large 'stush' of the item just ready to be revealed and distributed.

In any case - Here's the Amargasaurus with his other two companians -
You can judge for yourself which model is the best :

Shonisaurus

From my point of view the best model of Sega Vignetteum is the amargasaurus, followed by the triceratops with breeding and perhaps from my point of view the least interesting is the tyrannosaurus, without this meaning that the three figures are great.

ceratopsian

Some great recent catches - that exhibition catalogue looks stunning.

BrontoScorpio

Thank you ceratopsian for your kind words :
I do try to combine the relevant Cataloge if I show items from an exhibition -
It puts things in context and add surplus value that you can not get by simply describing in few words.

Roselaar

Lovely stuff! The Vignetteum Amarga definitely is the best. The Trike not so much, just look at that weird mouth...

With respect to my previous post, about Sega Vignetteum Great dinosaurs series :
So I heard that The common opinion is that the T-rex and a Triceratops - are of less quality than the Amargasaurus.
Those two were Prototyped by Takeuchi SHINZEN.
Maybe it's true, regarding this serie - but, In general, This artist is considered at the very top of Japanese artists.

so, Only this week I got a new parcel with SHINZEN's works :
Big Size Vinyl Styracosaurus & Tyrannosaurus from Happinet, by Takeuchi SHINZEN :

The models are no longer retail available, so it is now hard to get your hands on them -
This is what they looked like on Amazon.jp :

- Tyrannosaurus
- Styracosaurus

The Styracosaurus has also been reproduced by X-Plus :whether the X-Plus version is a bootleg or not, I don't know, but, it is surely of a lesser quality.

What I know of, there is one more SHINZEN model that was mass produced by a toy company :
Sega Prize's 'Great Dinosaur Premium' Tyrannosaurus Soft Vinyl HG Figure :
These are the two mighty SHINZEN's Rexes in comparison :

This is the blue version.

Red version is more common - a short review can be found HERE.

As for other models of Takeuchi SHINZEN :
The modeling center he is heading produced many fabulous works - but most are Resin kits in limited numbers or statues for Exhibitions :
Needless to say those are virtually impossible to get.
Here's a few examples :

- One of his held Exhibitions review.
- Main site of SHINZEN's modeling center.
- Gallery of his works.

I also got SHINZEN's famous book : "How to make a Dinosaur".
You can get it in :

- Amazon.jp
- TMK-Japan

It covers some of Shinzen's works and guide you through the process of making a Dinosaur.I took some sample pictures  -

Some of his models :

And of the Dino-making process :

Mini Minmi

What an awesome book, and illustrated enough that language barrier is not too much of a problem it seems. Thank you for sharing!

Shonisaurus

Thank you for sharing the BrontoScorpio images. The amargasaurus and tyrannosaurus of Sega vinyl are very prized figures among the collectors of dinosaurs and prehistoric toy animals.

I would never let  the Big Sega prized vinyl Amargasaurus into my collection.
I don't think it is a nicely made figure -
It has a very Toy-like appearance ( and it sure ain't SHINZEN's .. ).
I bet you think it is 'prized figures among the collectors' because it was discussed few times and had been offered here on DTF -
But, I see no relevance in that.

This new box I just got brings back nice childhood memories :
Tsukuda Hobby Jurassic Park I (1993) 1/8 Vinyl Dilophosaurus :

If you remember the scene from the movie :

https://youtu.be/MNoWveBtrZc

The iconic Frill is very obvious of course :

So as the slender body -
( As far as I know Dilophosaurus is is depicted to be much larger now days )

On the back you can see all 6 figures combine the Tsukuda Hobby Jurassic park medium size serie :

Shonisaurus

Thanks for sharing BrontoScorpio the photos of JP dilophosaurus to me also bring me very good memories, I for example bought the triceratops from JP at least twenty years ago or more. Then I gave it to a relative.

I congratulate you on your collection.

BrontoScorpio

The weekend has come - and I had time to open the SHINZENs' Big Size Vinyl Styracosaurus from Happinet.
I was in for a nice surprise :
I admit I had my doubts before buying it :
knowing the X-Plus Albertosaurus, which is too cheap Plastic to my taste in looks and feel -
I was afraid that the Styracosauruswill feel the same - since both companies ( X-Plus & Happinet ) had made it.

Well, for my delight it was far from it - I don't know about the X-Plus model - but this Happinet model took my breath away as soon as I opened the box :
It was incredibly impressive : The size, the details, the texture of the skin, the pose - It really  resembles the big Vinyl Kaiyodos, if any.
It felt like magnet - you just can't stop starring at it.
There it is SHINZENs' Big Size Vinyl Styracosaurus by Happinet :

Next to a friend for a contest of comparing horn size :

The two Happinets in a batle for life :

Shonisaurus

Both the styracosaurus and the vinyl tyrannosaurus of SHINZEN are a real marvel. Thank you for sharing BrontoScorpio and I congratulate you on your new acquisitions.

Mini Minmi

That styracosaurus is a beauty! Congrats!

BrontoScorpio

I know those are NOT Dinosaurs -
and It's even against the rules ( my rules .. ) -
But, It is Kaiyodo & PolyResin - so, I just could not resist the temptation :

postsaurischian

:D The Aquatales anniversary resin figures are absolutely awesome!
It's so sad they stopped the production after the first two waves. Three more waves with stunning figures were announced :'( .
This is probably the best Sailfish figure available :) . I love it.

Yes, I admit the Salefish was what innitialy draw my interest -
even though, now I seem to think it's colouration and brightness may just be a bit too much.
My favourite now is the "Hamphead Wrasse" -
very colourful and yet refined, subtle and realistic as nature itself.

Got those 3 ceratopsians & 2 Pterosaurs :

With these 2 new additions I complete the 2 series :

- Sega Dinosaur King :

-  Happinet Great Dinosaur Era :

- A review on the SEGA Big Soft Vinyl Dinosaur King serie ( セガ 恐竜王列伝 )

- A review on the Happinet Big Soft Vinyl Dinosaur Era ( ハピネット 大恐竜時代 )

These are robust and sturdy fellas - Ideal for the lower bottom shelve :

They got no fine details, and have Iconic apperance and strong colouring -

what makes them good at being viewed from a distance -

And more so are hardy builtand and can easily be cleaned -
thus ideal for the  ground shelve - where I would not dare put any Resin statue or a miniature figure.

Roselaar

Awesome ceratopsians!

Two more rather interesting lines that are hard to get on my side of the globe. Not that I have money to spare for them for the next few years...
