Hello,
When I was a kid one Easter my brothers and I each got a big soap egg. They were nice and professionally packaged, not a do-it-yourself craft thing like everyone does. One of us got a dinosaur egg, it was pale green with an animal not unlike a plateosaurus. I got a Loch Ness Monster egg which was blue and contained the fanciful hump backed plesiosaur in the pics. My older brother got a red soap dragon egg which contained the other animal in the pics. US Quarter shown for scale. All 3 animals glowed in the dark but my younger brothers dinosaur has long ago gone missing. If anyone knows what I'm talking about and wants to post a pic of the dino, or better yet, package art, go for it. For their tiny size they are quite detailed. They are soft flexible rubbery plastic.

I know exactly what you mean!  I had a lot of them, they were sold at Kmart and my mom worked there.  I had several Nessie's and Dragons,  the dinos I did too but they were all different for some reason.  I've dug around looking for years and have only turned up one in box Nessie so far.

Adam if you really want one I might be able to help. Looks like they were actually mad in England so might be more available there?

Nessie :

Not the same line, but 1980's as well. These were harder to find.

lastly, much later, but similar, fizz egg with dino inside.

Oh my God I had one of the dinosaur ones as a kid! It was a little pteranodon, I loved it to pieces. I enjoyed the fact it always smelled a bit like the soap. Hehe. I lost it years ago sadly but I have fond memories of it, thanks for sharing. :)

In my experience, they always split along the mold line long before the soap dissolved enough to reveal the animal.

My sister and I received these eggs for Christmas one year it was fun waiting for the dinosaur to appear...I seem to recall it being a sauropod.
