Just a case of hunting them down. Have you SEEN the prices of the series three ceratopsians?!

Sadly, I have. :( My earnest hope is that someone here on the forum or someone who follows the blog already owns those remaining four toys and is willing to review them.

Perhaps some of the different looking Smithsonian versions would be worth reviewing? Not that I have any of them, but for example the Quetzalcoatlus turned Pterodactylus might be different enough for a separate review...

Also, seems we only have a review of the de-fuzzed Smithsonian Struthiomimus rather than the fuzzy original... Dinoguy reviewed it for his blog: http://dinogoss.blogspot.com/2017/04/review-dino-riders-struthiomimus-by.html

suspsy

I don't think the Smithsonian versions warrant separate reviews. Perhaps if they had been drastically recoloured like the Series 3 Quetzalcoatlus, but the only major difference between them and the Dino Riders versions is the absence of electronics in some.

As for the Struthiomimus you mentioned, I'd say that's a "maybe." Wouldn't be much to say about it other than the plumage.

The retooled "Pterodactylus" had its crest removed though, no? Anyhow, don't have it, and probably never will... And I agree, the ones that just had their electronics removed wouldn't be worth it.

But nice to see that Megatherium, I had a friend who had the Smilodon, it was really cool, hope it'll be reviewed...

suspsy

That crestless version did receive a mention in this review:

I think that's all it warrants. I'm generally okay with reviews of repaints, as it can be interesting to learn about the different colour schemes and decide which you one like better, but unless a toy has been significantly retooled, I think it's redundant to have reviews for every single variation.

That's a great review. I like to tear into scientific accuracy with my reviews, and it was neat to see someone decide to focus on other things. The figure is in really good condition too!

Thanks! As a commentator noted, I wrongly used tripodal instead of tridactyl here: "The feet are correctly tripodal".

And the second last paragraph is repeated twice! Perhaps these issues could be fixed?

suspsy

Don't know why there was a second paragraph, that's very strange. Anyway, it's been resolved.

And here is the Massive Biters Tarbosaurus from Mattel:

avatar_suspsy @suspsy Magnificent succinct article, enjoyable and with good photographs of prehistoric animals I recognize that I am a person very addicted to dinosaurs and prehistoric animals of PNSO. Except for the giant PNSO ceratosaurus and its resin figures, I have the rest of the collection.

suspsy

Thanks! As I've said before, I'm dying to hear news of the third series of PNSO miniatures.

Cat's out the bag, so let's review! It's Bullyland's Machairodus!

Thanks for the review on the LGTI Ouranosaurus. I've been stuck with one for some time and didn't know what it was.

(And does anyone want it)

Shonisaurus

avatar_indohyus @indohyus Magnificent article I congratulate you. I like those comments about the machairodus and especially the photo credit is great. My congratulations.
