Problem with this way of thinking is precisely what it says..it fails to take into account how the changing science reflects on each figure and perhaps alters its accuray or adherence to scientific ideas. So, if you are using the reviews here to decide wether to purchase a figure and the only information that is current and offered is for a figure done by another company you are just out of luck.
I think most of the reviews on the Dinosaur Toy Blog are very informative, helpful and interesting!  Something I've wondered about though, is how much they affect what people think and whether people decide to buy a figure.  I'm a bit concerned about this as there are a very small number of reviews I don't think are accurate or fair enough, and not even because of changing science.

I found my way to the DTB while looking for good dinosaur toy information for my kids.  IMHO, it has been the best site, with a wide range of information, with science, collecting, and playability all playing a role in the reviews.  The reviews are a great overview of different prehistoric toys.  The DTB has helped me pick out toys for my kids and the big kid who is currently writing.  In fact, I just orderd the Procon/CollectA Hydrotherosaurus (written by Dr. Adam), based off of the pictures and info written on the DTB.  Science is always changing, what is new one day, ends up being retro cool the next.  I think most of the reviews should not be updated or rewritten other than a few of the really short, basicly placeholder reviews.

Thank you (I realise it isn't your responsibility so I appreciate it)! One of the reasons I'm not able to post many guest reviews myself is because the editing takes a lot of time - sometimes it is quicker to write a review from scratch than edit someone else's! I'm sympathetic, however, because I realise Takama is dyslexic (I think? Is this the case Takama?). Thanks to Amargasaurus for editing Takama's reviews in the fist place, and for Suspsy for posting these recent ones.

They do take some editing work, and time to get ....in place. I am sorry for the things i missed and glad Suspy chose to fine tune the editing done already. Feel free to do so again should i miss things, I am not the best at it, but I do get alot of it sorted.

I currently don't really have a preference regarding updating or writing new reviews to reflect changing science.

I also feel this way about the vast majority of DTB reviews.  There are a small number of DTB reviews I don't think are accurate or fair enough (again, not due to changing science) and consequently are misleading.  They aren't of obscure toys either.  I don't mean to be disrespectful to the authors of these reviews, they come across as nice people!

:)  I wonder how many kids grow into "big kids"?  It seems I'm one too!

I assume amargasaurus is also helping out with identifying various anatomical flaws in these toys, and in that regard, I am quite confident in him. I am a teacher by profession, so correcting for spelling and grammar comes naturally to me.

As a teacher as well I have to admit, spelling and grammer, not so natural for me.   ;)

If i am, then i have yet to be Diagnosed by a Doctor.     I do try to make the Reviews make sense before i send them to Amargasaurus, and when he sends the edited version to me, i then send it to Suspy.

No offense taken.   It's not the first time I been called that :)

I had also seemed to remember you had been diagnosed with some form of problem Takama , but I cannot remember precisely what it is. If it was not dyslexia, perhaps you might expand or remind us, that have forgotten.
Regarding the reviews, He generates the information almost entirely himself. I rarely if ever alter that part...his writing style however is as if he were talking to you, with every slang term, and euphenism included. Far too many qualifying words....like...for the most part, or...generally, or similar terms dilute alot of the ideas he gives. Capitals are randomly used, and perhaps the main area one has to watch for are sentences that read more like paragraphs. He does his own work...and does it the way he wants it printed...I just remove, rework, reword and fine tune the message as much as I can to make it more.....pallatable.I had agreed to this and do my best to help, but I am far from perfect mysef...generally, overall for the most part seemingly, I think probably, right?I admire that he chooses to contribute despite his issues with writing, and he puts forth his best for the forum. Doc Admin did me a quite well remembered solid once...and when I asked the cost, he let it go, in light of my help with the forum. In that light, I feel it necessary to provide that help he mentioned where I can

It is much appreciated but please don't feel obliged if you feel you've run your course, even in light of any favours I may have granted :)  Sometimes I just like to help out friends :)

It is a good cause as long as it is needed , and I will do what I can for now. I work it in where and when I can, which sometimes takes weeks and sometimes I get alot done in  a single sitting....as long as i can space it so it works for me, its a non issue

Based on the descriptions above, I think amargasaurus has done a very good job of editing. I've had to correct errors with capitalization, spacing, and punctuation, and changed a word or two to make the narrative flow more smoothly, but I haven't had to tear apart and rearrange whole paragraphs or sentences.
