Gothmog the Baryonyx

I have a couple of things to say, one is there any chance you could add the Safari Ltd Toobs?

The other is a weird glitch where it seems to say I have one of any animal than I do. I noticed it throughout adding. It said I'd put in one more Parasaurolophus than I had, then Styracosaurus, now Tyrannosaurus. I don't want to have to remove everything to see what the problem is.
Megalosaurus, Iguanodon, Archaeopteryx, Cetiosaurus, Compsognathus, Hadrosaurus, Brontosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, Albertosaurus, Herrerasaurus, Stenonychosaurus, Deinonychus, Maiasaura, Carnotaurus, Baryonyx, Argentinosaurus, Sinosauropteryx, Microraptor, Citipati, Mei, Tianyulong, Kulindadromeus, Zhenyuanlong, Yutyrannus, Borealopelta, Caihong

These little nasty bugs ...
avatar_Gothmog the Baryonyx @Gothmog the Baryonyx , can you tell me your username and the exact figurines in question through a private message? If you still know how exactly your steps were, that would be super helpful (which filters did you use, page, etc). I will try to take care of it tomorrow.

I'm enjoying the different options for exploring the site and grouping the models. Just wondering if it would be possible to break down the very large reptile group and separate some of the groupings within it? I'm thinking in particular about the pterosaurs, crocs and marine reptiles. Sorry if it's too much work?

I also sent a few more photos in, hope you can make use of them.

Thank you, PM sent.

I think the problem is fixed. The personal favorite animal should now be displayed correctly for everyone.
Thanks avatar_Gothmog the Baryonyx @Gothmog the Baryonyx for reporting!

Thanks for the suggestion. At first we divided these groups. As the size of the database and diversity of animal species increased, however, it became increasingly confusing. That's why it will stay with this subdivision for the time being. I have already considered whether one can represent TOP companies and TOP groups somehow ... But at the moment I do not want to change the current presentation. I'm sorry, but I hope you can understand this reason.

Of course I can do that! The pictures are, as always, very welcome! Unfortunately, I had a bitter setback last week and had to use my powers elsewhere. Therefore, the news page and database were not provided with new updates. Nevertheless, your pictures will be added soon.

Crackington

Thanks for the explanation. I can appreciate that it's a lot of work producing a website like this, so well done!

I do have a (hopefully) quick question. Does TOP stand for anything? I had a look at acronyms sites but couldn't see anything relating to palaeontology or cladistics. Sorry if I'm being dense!

Actually, I just wanted to say that it is about the most famous companies. I do not know why I wrote "top" in capital letters. Sorry for the confusion!

Crackington

Thanks, that makes sense.

There was actually a company called Topps in the 80s which made cereal premium style mini dinos, but best not to go there  :D

Thanks for putting the photos on the site too.

Thanks for sharing them!

I remember Topps as a playing card maker. Everywhere I saw car and airplane themed cards.

Not directly related to management on your site, but it looks like since the release of Eofauna Giganotosaurus the most wanted figure is now the Safari Ltd 2019 Stegosaurus. I'm glad there are many other people who are interested in the most accurate and up to date Stegosaurus figure.

Yes, that's what I looked at and posted on my social media channels:

"After the much-anticipated Giganotosaurus of eofauna has been delivered to many users, the community is already craving for the next model: The Stegosaurus by SafariLtd
And: welcome to user # 50!"

That's great news that the site is growing. What is enjoyable about it is its interactivity which means that you can really engage with it, note your own figures,  rate them and even add photos too.

This makes it a bit different to other existing sites, some of which, whilst often also excellent, don't have that ability to interact, and so are rather a passive experience when viewing them. I'm not thinking of our own beloved Forum by the way!

I would recommend it to other Forum members and encourage people to send in pictures. By way of example, Stefan has just added 2 of my rarer models, the X-Plus Ray Harryhausen's Smilodon and Phororacos and it's great to see them on there. Taking the pictures is fun too.

Thanks again for the site!

52 members now, I'm glad your site is getting more popular because it's a great resource.

It's been a while since I've posted on this thread, but I have to say; the website has improved a lot since I last actively went on it  :)

Just a minor nitpick; I'm pretty sure the sort by rating feature has been there long enough that the word 'new' doesn't need to be next to 'rating' on the dropdown menu anymore  ;)

Any help is welcome! Pictures and naming missing models are just as good as naming minor bugs * wink * avatar_Ravonium @Ravonium  (thanks for pointing that out, you're right - I have already changed it)
And I would like to say it publicly: Thanks to avatar_Crackington @Crackington , who supports the site again and again with pictures. But not only because of the pictures, but also thanks to hints to other things that expand my horizon again and again.

I remain open to suggestions for improvement and I am glad that the interactive part of the website is so well received. This forum is, in my opinion, the best place to exchange and get in touch with each other. Which is actually the reason why I showed myself here.

avatar_Gothmog the Baryonyx @Gothmog the Baryonyx
To my surprise, there are now even 54 users. I think it's nice to see that the website is well received and gives pleasure to others. That was my goal and I try to make the experience of the website even better. (Unfortunately, my to-do list is growing)

But I want to be honest and mention that at the moment I am working on another project more intensively. That does not mean that I put the website aside, only that changes and improvements may take a bit longer. So I ask for your understanding if I can not respond immediately.

Thank you all for the many kind words.

A small update to the site:
I've noticed there was no option for deleting your account. I don't know why anyone wants to do that, but now you can do it for yourselves  ;)
And actually I want to collect dinosaur figures and not data.

And a question to the users of the site:
What feature do you want me to do next?
- share your collection
- more informations about the manufacturers
- change the quantity of a single figure (It's only possible to have one of each virtually)
- Some other thing (suggestions needed)

I have a lot more to work on the site, but these are things that are much easier to do.

I like all three of these ideas. How difficult would it be to assign multiple taxonomic groups or geological periods to products that contain multiple species?
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres
I know exactly what this is about, because it annoys me a little too.
For that I would have to (and I will in the future) change a lot of my table structure. The difficulty level is relatively low, but the effort is enormous.

Halichoeres

Yes, I can see why that would be laborious. In the meantime, I'll just avoid uploading multi-species items  ;D
