Another collaboration, this time with the deviant paleoartist pilsator.

Here´s the somewhat obscure caenagnathid Crassamara/Chirostenostes colored by me :

And pilsators original lineart: http://pilsator.deviantart.com/art/Crassamara-v2-282703626

Thanks. ;) Here is the little birdie with some color on it:

And more dromaosaur studies, from top to bottom: Deinonychus, Dromaeosaurus and Austroraptor. Not to scale of course, but they will be in the incoming scale chart...

Tylosaurus

You got some nice arts here Arioch :)
This Allo has indeed some bad times coming his way :)

A similar art like this was made in The Dinosaurs by William Stout

Wow, thats quite a compliment   ^-^.  I can´t dream of achieve Stout skill and expertise, but I see what you mean.

Here´s a new brand sketch. The enigmatic hunter from New Jersey, Dryptosaurus. A bit too greg Paulian, perhaps...

ZoPteryx

The color patterns on the Chirostenotes are fantastic!

Gryphoceratops

cool drypto so far.  But how is it too "Greg Paulian"?

The posture and gracile stylization seem somewhat reminiscent of his style, but that doesnt worry me too much. I think it still have more of own style.

Himmapaan

You certainly do. I'm not reminded of Paul at all when looking at this.

I love the fluency of this latest. It looks as though you feel much more assured. :D

Greg Paul's whole "stop copying me or i'll sue RAAAAHHHHHH!" thing must have really gotten to you.  Don't worry about it.  Ur fine.  Even if you blatantly copied one of his images (which you haven't) ur doing nothing wrong unless u are publishing/selling the image as your own.

Nah, I dont fear GSP´s righteous anger striking me for daring to draw a theropod with a raised leg or something, unless we are in a purely humorous setting. It wouldn´t be necessarily bad, is just that I want to avoid any ressemblance to his work as possible, there are already too many GSP "copycats" out there (and some of them are great artists nonetheless.)

Thank you so much, Niroot. Yes, I think I feel a bit more confident as I become more knowledgeable in advanced anatomy or drawing/coloring techniques. Lets not forget that since not so much time ago, I was sort of stick in the 90´s kind of understanding of this things and, well, had much less experience in the artistic field.

Anyhow, here is the "tearing lizard" properly painted. Quite happy with this fella (though I´d recommend a visit to the gallery link if you want an even higher resolution).

ZoPteryx

I really like the bright snout and throat on the Drypto! :)

Arioch

Thanks zopteryx! Someone pointed out that its probably the best maniraptoran head I´ve done so far... I´m inclined to agree.

Well, new stuff. No theropod thingies this time, I need a break from those.

-Parasaurolophus walkeri:

And a young mosasaur catching a Nyctosaurus. (Very doodlish, this is how my sketches look like before I clean them up):

Gryphoceratops

Looks cool.  You seem to be fond of wrinkles looking at that parasaurolophus.

Shouldn't the mosasaur's actual tail be at a downward angle like an ichthyosaur's?  Thats the case for that relatively recent specimen that was found.

Quite. I didnt have any reference at hand when I drew this and didn´t remember how it was supposed to be. Ah, nevermind. I also might have overdone the bulk on the upper body.

Parasaurolophus finished:

ataraxus

wow, very beauty pics here. i love your color schemes.

Blade-of-the-Moon

Love the use of color and shading. The animal itself is quite different from what you usually see..even myself I have the image stuck in my head of the slender hadrosaur..not something easy to break away from.. lol

Thanks!  And yeah, when you grow up with all those fit stylized duckbills its hard to get used to those fa...err, big-boned ones. :D However, and as I was told over in Da, Hadrosaur means ·"robust lizard" after all....they had to deal with annoying tyrannosaurs almost on a daily basis and weren´t much of a speedsters (more biters and slappers, maybe)...  :))

Here´s another collab I did with Tomozaurus, the sauropod Qiaowanlong . A really rushed job (I misunderstood him and thought I only had 1 day to paint it, well, long story), but I still think its decent enough.

Also, bit of an update on the mosasaur. I changed my mind about the scene orientation, instead of breaking the surface is dragging the pterosaur underwater. The colors are way more advanced than this, but I prefer not to reveal too much.

ZoPteryx

Poor Nyctosaurus.  Can't wait to see the finished product though!
