I just got back from a holiday along the east coast. We visited a reptile house, and they had these guys in their gift shop :P
Hey, where did you go? I might want to visit in the future!

Great Yarmouth. The place was called Amazonia :)

There is also a dinosaur park at Norfolk too, with lots of model dinosaurs.

This is me on the right standing next to their Brachiosaurus, about 10+ years ago.

I went to that very same park as a child, but I haven't been there for a very long time. I should make the trip some day, if only to be able to write a report for LITC that no one would read.

Some of the models I really loved, but the zipper-mouthed T. rex (that looked like a giant version of the old 1970s Airfix model) made me laugh. I remember when they had a 'teddy bears' picnic' section too...I doubt they do now!

Oh you mean this one?

I believe they have replaced some of their old models with JP rip offs, but the vast majority of them are still there :O

Nobs

Post more of the dino models from the park!  Those are great

I read nearly everything on LITC, just last night I read your review of that new dinosaur art book aloud to my wife.  :)

Apologies for the double post, but...

Hey, check it out! I started an awesome thread just by thinking about it!

OK, now I need to dig out the photos from when I visited that Norfolk park back in the '90s. EDIT: Wouldn't you know it - I must have uploaded them over on DTF V1, and they're still on Photobucket. Here's a sample:

Blade-of-the-Moon

They're very retro and I love em' ! ;D

Dinosaur Kingdom in Natural Bridge, VA was great roadside fun, it's a shame that just back in April this year it suffered a major fire which has closed the facilities indefinitely.  It follows a loose story of civil war era soldiers finding a time portal to the past.

Here are some pics I took while there the year before :

If one of them was "buy this book" than you succeeded.

Taronga Zoo in Sydney is about to get a couple of dinosaurs.

I might actually end up will be volunteering for the duration of the dinosaur exhibit; I went for the interview yesterday and I'll know this evening if I was successful I got the job.

So I just had my first day of training for the dinosaur volunteer job and I learnt some things about the zoo's dinosaurs. They're being handled by a company called Billings Productions, who lend their dinosaurs out for exhibitions (see the Chester Zoo showreel on the main page for some of the dinosaurs that Taronga Zoo will have). Ok so they're not accurate but the zoo plans to use them to highlight conservation issues, e.g. like the Allosaurus, the Sumatran Tiger is a top predator, but it is threatened by human activities.

Also it's going to be fun as hell to get people into the right position to get sprayed by the Dilophosaurus.

They've installed the dinosaurs now. I thought that they'd be covered up but they were left out in the open. I bring you pics!

Can't wait to see them moving.
