Can you find examples of other hosts where this happens?

I have the same problem with pics from imageshack.
Some other sources still work fine.

Hmm, maybe imageshack are up to similar tricks. I don't think there isn't anything I can do about it, I'm afraid. If anyone knows otherwise, please let me know.

What about a way to ignore users?

Go to

profile --> buddy/ignore list --> edit ignore list.

Add the user name and that should hide their posts and stop them from pming you.

Well may be an old topic since there were no posts made in the past 300+ days, anyways I was directed to go here for suggestions so here it goes :)

It may be an idea to make use of spoilers to avoid an overdose of photo's a certain topic may contain.

It works quite simple:
loads of photo's
Say if a DTF member makes a topic with let's say 57 photo's all using thumbnails that are 640 x 480 leading to high res 7.2 Mega pixel photo's for example right, With Spoilers you can avoid loading lag, some may have slow or unstable connections.
WiFI is one of the main causes for a slow and unstable connection, all due to packet loss from the host to the server and back there by causing pings to fluxuate which causes unstable pings and in the end lag.
I build servers and Networks thus the explanation of that part, since this an important part of my post.

Such connections won't do well when a topic has a mega ton of pictures, so with the use of spoilers this can be prevented with that simple line of code.
I am sorry if I don't explain it well enough for many to understand, I did my best for that part.

There is a spoilers mod I could install, but since we aren't really discussing books or movies much, it seemed a bit pointless. If people want it to hide images or large chunks of text, we could try it, but I'd prefer people just post less content and keep it high quality. ;)

We had a shoutbox for a while, but we had some security issues, which I tied to it. Since it wasn't being used much anyway, I removed it.

What ever floats your boat man, all cool here  8)
At 2CPU.com we have a image limit of 15 images per post, this could work here.
Yet the funny thing is that it counts emoji's as images as well, could be because our forum software dates back to September 05, of 1999.

Even I have no idea what the image limit is for this forum though, sorry if I misread something  :-X

My suspicion is that the folks you would most want to use spoilers would probably not bother to do so.

Erm Dr. Admin?

Are you allowed to post swearing here, such as Filthy Frank's welcome to the rice fields?

supposed to be a family friendly site, with no profanity, despite some members regularly using the softer words like hell, damn and what not.

CrypticPrism

Okay, thanks.

Dr. admin, please ignore my comment.

Actually most of the times threads like that of recent acquisitions or those dedicated to personal collections take a bit too much to load, but I don't know if the spoiler trick would make much sense given the purpose of said threads.

CrypticPrism

I really would like notifications when edits happen.

What about uploading pics to the site and not image hosting.

Quick question, figured I'd post here rather than create a new thread.

Did the forum layout change recently?  There used to be a section at the top at all times that showed one's profile and allowed you to navigate to the unread and updated lists of topics directly from threads.  Now to get to those you have to go back to home and use the same options on the left sidebar, which were always there as well but only on the home page.

Hi ZoPteryx, it sounds like you've clicked the toggle button, check what Dr Admin said in Reply #2 here: http://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=4943.0
