Or maybe, just maybe, saturating shelves with hundreds and thousands of Owen variants isn't the brightest idea.  ::)

There were only..3 versions of him? Raptor trainer, Lockwood, and the Baby Blue one?  I figure it's more about how they banked on his star power short packing other figures.  I would rather have a couple more Claire variants, especially from the first film.

Kotori_Sonoda

That's too bad about human figures, sad that they don't sell well.
I have one Owen (from the two pack with Blue), two Claires (one from the gyrosphere and the other is the individually packed one) and two mercenaries (the one with the electric staff/prod - one of the rare times I bought multiples of a figure!).
I'd definitely love if they bring the capture gear back. Though I never had the kenner stuff browsing old pics online, I always thought that was a neat idea and helps sell the interacting of the humans with the dino figures.
This is not your planet to rule. The Fallen shall rise again.

Sarapaurolophus

I would die for an Ellie figure based on the scene where she's in the bunker with the raptors.

Any Ellie, to be honest. Make her come with a pile of dino dung, I don't care :P

Exactly, I recall reading about it in PREVIEWS magazine back at the comic shop as a kid. No real pics just descriptions.  I kept thinking now I can use my vehicles to hunt down and recapture the dinos , put them in the command compound and of course the power would go out to have them break free so the process would start all over.   I just think they need to sell the concept in the film someway and in the toy promotions.

Pretty much the whole Legacy collection has never been available in germany, I imagine it might be a similar situation where Sarapaurolophus lives.
Importing them would mean somewhere between 30 and 60 euros per figure, due to shipping and customs and depending on the listing. I´m sure they´re great figures, but that´s just insane. Not getting the Legacy humans mostly killed my interest in the JW line, since those were what I was most hyped about.
At least we got Wheatley and a random mercenary.  ::)

Well, we got parts of the Legacy line at least in Germany. I know the T.rex can be found at Real, Smyth's and MyToys, the Spino at Smyth's and MyToys and the Brachio at Müller and MyToys. Everything else? Not so much.

Speaking of which humans we have: My only one is the ambigiously human one that camp with the snazzy T.rex skull. Or Maisie for short. Brought her at the same time as the Herrerasaurus. She was the only Maisie, every other human was either Owen ( and not the good one coming with Baby Blue ) or Wheatley. She's still MOC.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Faelrin

I haven't been to any of my Target stores in a bit, but the last time I checked they still had some Owen figures shelf warming (particularly the Lockwood Battle ones). Those have been there for a few years now. Why they don't just clearance them off I don't know. That certainly made matters worse too. Short packing certain characters was also a bad idea, particularly characters like Maisie (who arguably came with the best accessory) and Claire.

Decent! But she is smiling and fighting a compy :P
I was thinking more of a collectors item with injured leg and badass facial expression in scale to the Amber raptors.

Yep, I am based in Germany :)
And truth be told, while I love JP, I am not willing to import or overpay for a figure that is lacking imo. So I'll keep dreaming about my Ellie doll. I even pondered making one myself using a Star Wars Black Series character that was also played by Laura Dern. I just really want that bunker scene on my shelf :))

Yeah, I wasn't being precise and a little too tongue in cheek. Allthough I definitely would buy an Amber Ellie with dino dung ;D

Ah, ok that makes more sense.   Female figures are always more difficult to get from companies in lines that they view as more male driven which I have never figured out really, just look at the new Star Wars films. Female lead and the toys sold.  Claire was I think more of a major character in JW than Owen and yet she isn't given nearly as much attention.   I'd love one in Amber Collection scale to go with the upcoming Indominus Colossal figure.

So can anyone confirm the differences between the orange Control & Conquer Carnotaurus and the upcoming "Toro" Carno? I just saw the C&C at the store yesterday and it just seems so big (though I never even saw the red/white one in person so can't compare). I'm hoping Toro is a slightly smaller version of the figure that is more in scale. Plus it would be cool to finally have a Jurassic Carnotaurus, one that also depicts a named dinosaur character in the franchise.

I personally really like the Dr. Satler Legacy figure and recommend it if you can find it. Really well done and her most iconic costume. I'm not sure what an "injured leg" feature would even look like for the character because it's not like she was bleeding from a wound, just a sprain. You can mimic that with the existing figure just fine if you want, but the main problem I guess is just the slightly different costume. Also, I think insisting on a plastic mound of dinosaur dung with a future Ellie figure is ridiculous. What marketing team would ever approve that? It's a diorama piece that you should instead just make out of sculpey clay yourself rather than want an "official" version of. Unless you are joking?

Regarding the Amber series, I am not a fan and hope that those resources are diverted back to the main toy line before long. Jurassic Park does not have iconic enough or very many humanoid characters as say, Star Wars, certainly not enough to fuel a human-centric 6-inch toy line for long. I'm sure the Amber dinosaur releases are going to remain quite limited, and to smaller animals at a bigger scale with marginally nicer overall sculpts than the main figures. The raptors do not impress me for how big they are, and that size class in my collection is taken by the far superior Beasts of the Mesozoic figures anyway.

I think Mattel would ultimately sell more of Nedry if for example they had packed him with that new Savage Strike Dilo rather than as a larger Amber release. Hoping we do see him and other characters like Ray Arnold as main line releases, especially since Arnold as an Amber series release would probably be packed with... yet another repaint of that raptor sculpt.

suspsy

Pretty sure Toro is just a straight up repaint of the C&C.

Yes it's a repaint, though a much nicer one I think and with the scar on his snout.  The smallest Carno so far is the FK release one we first received.  You can can find comparison videos on youtube. It actually scales best with the larger Thrash and Throw Rex.

The same minds that gave us the Back to the Future Car full of Manure I would guess lol  but your right, it's easy enough to custom build such a thing if desired.

I would prefer more figures in smaller range, but that seems unlikely right now unless we get another Comic Con exclusive. There are a slew of them we need still. Just from JP.

Nedry is getting released along side a Dilo in the same scale.  At the rate of two figures per year the Amber line, if successful enough, could continue for years.

Well thanks for clarifying the Carnotaurus situation. I guess I will still go for Toro when he comes out, but too bad they are just using the supersized Carno figure sculpt now.

On another note, thrilled to have picked up the Tarbosaurus at Target today! I don't quite know what it is, but I just LOVE this thing. I think the sculpt looks cool, the colors and pattern look cool, and I really like how they've done the biting action on these Primal Attacks. Though, some of them have jaws that are a bit "sticky" when you release the button (noticed with Sarco, too) so I had to play test several before I found one to my liking. Luckily they had the shelf full, also with lots of copies of C&C Carno. Also in addition to Cryolophosaurus (may or may not get, really want Edmonto and Majunga), two Brachiosaurs on the shelf, and Attack Packs they also had a peg with a nice spread of humans including Owen w/Blue, Merc w/Ankylosaurus, and Dr. Zia.

I guess I must have missed the boat on Amargasaurus. Last place I saw them had lots when I picked out the BD Spino in December, but all gone now. Oh well, it didn't pull me in enough in person, and they really need to work on that hefty, mechanism strain-inducing neck. Maybe a better colored slightly retooled repaint, in time?

I do like the feature on the Tarbo myself , i like closing the mouth and having him look side to side..just feels natural lol

Yes exactly! Hard to articulate how with words, but the feature can make the figure look very...animate. I am most reminded of how the action worked on the completely monstrous JP Chaos Effect "Paradeinonychus" figure. I used to do the exact same thing with it ha  :)

Goodness, Mattel is just completely spoiling us if you ask me!

Oh yeah it does have a similar feature! With it's rubber neck it actually pulls it off a little better but the detail on Mattel's is great.

I would agree.

Epic Roaring T.rex might not turn out as bad as I thought with those cartoony eyes. Taking a closer look at the Toy Fair video from Collect Jurassic that was already posted, I saw a much better looking T.rex that the one we got on most pictures. There was also a commercial that was being shown in the room there that also featured a much better looking T.rex.

Compare that to the first pictures that we got, they look like completely different figures:

Maybe is the angle.
Maybe the one with cartoony eyes is a prototype and the final version is the much better looking one.
I highly doubt there are two versions so I hope its the second case.

I really hope the final product is the better looking version. I still think the neck should be higher but it isn't that bad. Combine that with the action features it has, which I think are the best of all the Tyrannosaurus figures we have seen. If that is how the figure turns out, then is a worthy replacement of my TnT Tyrannosaurus whose action features don't work properly anymore.

In-package images soon please.

avatar_MLMjp @MLMjp Not quite an in package pic, but how's this side view? (edit: pic from Jurassic Outpost's FB page):

Looks like I was also wrong about the coloration, judging from this pic, in comparison to my initial impressions of it. It definitely looks a bit more like the extreme chomping repaint recently released, or the Bite N Fight, then the 2018 figures like the Thrash and Throw. Although the belly color is definitely brighter/more yellow for sure.

I'm going to wait to see in-package and in-hand pics and videos as well of this before I decide on getting it, but if I do it'll probably the last rex I get as I have more then enough variations at this point, and an electronic one would definitely appeal to my nieces more then the Bite N Fight or the extreme chomping ones do.
