Gothmog the Baryonyx

I realise I haven't commented on this for a while but since there are all still a way off here, I'd like to divide the entire (magnificent sized) lot of figures into 3 categories.

1. Must Haves:
Bajadasaurus
Baryonyx (I think this is a much better size than the bigger one)
Belemnite
Fukuisaurus
Lisowicia
Orthoceras
Pleuoceras
Redlichia rex

2. Maybes:
Caviramus
Saltriovenator
Horshoe crab
Nautilus

3. No, not at all:
Allosaurus (beautiful figure but already have Safari Ltd)
Diplodocus
Megalodon
Microraptor
Protoceratops (too big)

I'm pleased to see the Bajadasaurus looks appropriately sized.
Megalosaurus, Iguanodon, Archaeopteryx, Cetiosaurus, Compsognathus, Hadrosaurus, Brontosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, Albertosaurus, Herrerasaurus, Stenonychosaurus, Deinonychus, Maiasaura, Carnotaurus, Baryonyx, Argentinosaurus, Sinosauropteryx, Microraptor, Citipati, Mei, Tianyulong, Kulindadromeus, Zhenyuanlong, Yutyrannus, Borealopelta, Caihong

Stuckasaurus (Dino Dad Reviews)

I'm planning on getting on getting the Bajadasaurus and all the invertebrates, but the others don't really fit with my collection.
I'm super sad the Lisowicia is 1:20 instead of 1:40, but I might give in and get it eventually anyway because it looks so nice!

the groves and color of the spikes remind me of worms or alien tentacles...looks kinda weird.  :/

Flaffy

The Bajada looks really nice. Refreshing to see a Diplodocoid without weird exposed horse teeth.

Therizinosaur

Wow, the Bajadasaurus looks much better than the promo pics!

I think they must be modeled after oryx horns. The proposed function of the horns in Bajadasaurus fits what oryx have been known to do, and the texture looks really similar to me.
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

Awesome figure, they did a great job on this one. I can't wait to see it in person.
The horn is based on the restoration that the museum in Argentina ( I believe) did when it was first announced. A quick goggle search will bring lots of photos of it as well as paintings, all showing the ridged horn, which is very nice.

dont get me wrong I do like the bajada sculpt overall, but the shiny black horns kinda threw me off a bit. Not used to seeing sauropod back spikes depicted that way.

But come on, are you used to seeing sauropod "back spikes" at all? Not like they were a common structure in these animals.

I totally agree with Halichoeres, I was thinking "oryx" when I saw the Bajadasaurus in detail. Totally appropriate way to depict them here, since in both animals these structures are a bony core covered by keratin. I think the figure looks great.

I would love to see CollectA or any other company produce a new Triceratops or a Torosaurus or an Eotriceratops or any other chasmosaurine with horns covered in a similar keratinous layer. For certain it would be something new and refreshing.

yeah... Thinking about it now I do like how shiny black horns look on ceratopsians. Maybe its the worm-like grooves that look weird to me.

The spines of Collecta's badajasaurus the "punk dinosaur" are identical in terms of the sculpture to that of the known illustration of that dinosaur whose link happened (it is a BBC article in Spanish):

So from what I see the Bajadasaurus is relatively similar in length to Safari's Malawisaurus? At least according to the measures on Safari's site and everything dinosaur.

Neosodon

The Bajadosaurus sculpt looks incredible. But considering the spikes were probably for display it is surprising they gave it one of the blandest color schemes.

"3,000 km to the south, the massive comet crashes into Earth. The light from the impact fades in silence. Then the shock waves arrive. Next comes the blast front. Finally a rain of molten rock starts to fall out of the darkening sky - this is the end of the age of the dinosaurs. The Comet struck the Gulf of Mexico with the force of 10 billion Hiroshima bombs. And with the catastrophic climate changes that followed 65% of all life died out. It took millions of years for the earth to recover but when it did the giant dinosaurs were gone - never to return." - WWD

Indeed, a shame really. Could've used some simple white stripes.
Shouldnt be too hard to customise and paint some stripes on though.

Agree. I really like the oryx look:

interesting,  I  like how they look on the large sculpture and painting. The black to grey/white gradiant helps.

Acro's comics

I think I'll definitely get all of the marine models.

Shonisaurus

I pass a new video of the Collecta microraptor by 2020. The size is reasonably acceptable and is honestly very well sculpted. The video credit is from Andy's Dinosaur Reviews:
