The only thing I'm not a fan of is those removable bases.  On the previous set some of the figures could not stand without them, and some of the bases were slightly warped. I suspect it was a case of being pulled from the mold too soon.  If the figure is sculpted to balance, they should be unnecessary.

avatar_leidy @leidy , I am not a fan of bases in general, and none my Favorite brand theropods were able to stand without them, but I have found that if the bases were used for about a month, it slows produces some plastic deformation of the legs, and afterward the bases are no longer needed.  I assume this may not be that helpful if the bases themselves are warped.  I have essentially done the same thing by packing styrofoam blocking to force the legs into a balanced position, and then just letting them set for a while.  I do this as opposed to the hot water bath, because that causes elastic deformation that will eventually rebound back.

My T.rex can certainly stand without it's base, the Allosaurus from the same set cannot.  The cause is simple.  If I look at the allosaurus head on, there is a lean to one side, its center of gravity is off.  This while it's standing on its base.  As a free-standing figure, it's simple to correct it, just a matter of bending a toe in the right direction, probably a fraction of a millimeter is enough.  Unfortunately getting it to set permanently in that position isn't always successful. Well, I've reset it for today, hopefully it'll take, but I don't expect it to survive the summer months.

I do really like their bases for flying and swimming figures.  Those are nicely done.

Sleek carno sighted.

QuoteThe painted sample of the Carnotaurus soft model currently under development is released.

The major feature is the pair of horns on the head. It looks like a bull, as the name Carnotaurus means "meat-eating bull."

The forelimb is shorter than the Tyrannosaurus, but has four fingers. The color is a purple that has not been used very often in Favorite.

The first samples had a slightly lighter color scheme, but we think this [slightly darker] scheme is a better match for the Carnotaurus.

Although it is the first carnotaurus in the Soft Model line, it is a dinosaur that was previously released as a polyresin desktop model and skull & jaws model.

Please look forward to it.

We're just waiting for the Iguanodon to complete 2020's Standard Soft Model lineup.

Shonisaurus

The colors of the figure are pleasant and so are its teeth, its horns are curious and beautiful. When they reveal all the news about 2020's Favorite Soft Model dinosaurs, I'll get Brett to order them.

I would like in the future Favorite Soft Model to make a turiasaurus and an amargasaurus considering that they have their resin counterparts.

When i first saw those images on Facebook.

I thoght of this

I'm not sure how I feel about this Carnotaurus.  Its colouration is unusual and the way its horns curve upwards even more so.

avatar_Shonisaurus @Shonisaurus, on Facebook I asked Favorite if in the future they could make Amargasaurus, Ceratosaurus, Dilophosaurus and the Japanese species Futabasaurus and Utatsusaurus.

Shonisaurus

avatar_Sim @Sim I hope you can hear an amargasaurus from Favorite Soft Model would be a nice figure. I have the resin figure and I can say that it is quite an attractive figure.

leidy

Wow, I really like that.  Great sculpt and colour choice.

Diplodocus, Pachycephalosaurus and Carnotarus: I'm blue da ba dee da ba daa

Tarbosaurus (To favorite): Am I a joke to you?

On a more serious note, the Tarbosaurus is probably the one with the better paint scheme...

austrosaurus

Yikes, Favorite just does not care this year, does it? With the possible exception of the Tarbosaurus, none of these measure up favourably against their previous efforts, and this Carnotaurus is just the icing on the complete lack of cake.

Jose S.M.

That pose is kind of awkward. I don't really dislike any of the figures but I also don't like them enough to try to obtain them. The Pachycephalosaurus is not that bad, only if it wasn't shrink-wrapped

stargatedalek

Colours look fine to me, it's more-so the splotchy patterns that make them look so unnatural.

ITdactyl

...And, finally, the set is complete.

QuoteHere is the painted sample of the Iguanodon Soft Model, which is currently under development.
Iguanodon is the earliest dinosaur discovered and is the earliest named dinosaur in the UK by G. Mantel.

In Japan, a large number of fossils such as teeth of Iguanodon[ts] have been found in the Tetori Group that spans Ishikawa and Fukui prefectures, making it a familiar dinosaur.

This is its first appearance in the soft model line but in fact, it has a long history with Favorite, and it had been released in the past as polyresin model, desktop model and skull & jaws model.
It is a dinosaur close to Favorite's heart.

As for the colors, the base is dark yellow accentuated by a the brown pattern. [We think] this color scheme matches the image of Iguanodon.

Look forward to it

Unless Favorite has a surprise for this year's Dino Expo, we're just waiting for the painted versions of the 4 large vinyl models (Iguanodon, Diplodocus, Quetzalcoatlus and Mosasaurus) to complete the entire 2020 lineup.

Shonisaurus

Honestly, the Favorite Soft Model iguanodon is without a doubt the best figure of all the new Favorite Soft Model 2020 figures along with the quetzalcoatlus. I love the color scheme from my humble personal opinion.

PrimevalRaptor

I do kinda like the pose of the Carnotaurus, but I much prefer the Safari and CollectA ones imo.
The Iguanodon is really nice though, really like the colours on it, lowkey a bit more than the ones of the CollectA (though I like the sculpt there more, but it is larger of course)

CityRaptor

Those are some angry eyebrows on that Iguanodon.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

And grey. He's a grumpy old timer.
In the end it was not guns or bombs that defeated the aliens, but that humblest of all God's creatures... the Tyrannosaurus rex.

austrosaurus

Oh oKAY, Mr Iguanodon! That's almost (almost) good enough for me to recant my previous negative opinion! Certainly not better than the CollectA deluxe model, but a very strong effort nonetheless. It's actually almost disappointing how much better this one is than the rest of the new releases.

SidB

Love the Iguanodon. Imagine that I'll grab them all, being a completionist as far as this line is concerned.

Abe Viguanodon

I agree the Iguanodon is the nicest out of this batch. That Carnotaurus, correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the legs, in particular the shin segments, way too long for an abelisaur? I don't think the tibiae/fibulae and metatarsals are known from Carnotaurus, but in Aucasaurus they're considerably shorter. It makes it look a bit like it's on stilts.
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

iirc Carnotaurus does have pretty long legs, but I don't think that long
