That's a pretty decent looking early 2000's style Iguanodon. The eyebrows are definitely a choice, kinda anthropomorphizes it a bit too much. Looks like an old man in a Disney cartoon.

Shonisaurus

From my point of view the iguanodon is the best Favorite Soft Model figure this year by far.

It seems ALL 5 new standard figures are getting the large vinyl model treatment. Here's the teaser for Carnotaurus and Tarbosaurus.

triceratops83

The Carnotaurus looks like a rabbit.
In the end it was not guns or bombs that defeated the aliens, but that humblest of all God's creatures... the Tyrannosaurus rex.

Dinoxels

What is going on with that Carnotaurus? It's horns are far too long and skinny.
Most (if not all) Rebor figures are mid

postsaurischian

These are the big softies for little children. They might like the rabbit horns ^-^ .

The vinyl varieties of Favorite dinosaurs are of course intended for the little ones at home (they are intended for children from 0 to 5 years old). The normal-sized dinosaurs of Favorite Soft Model are intended for a rather youthful audience regardless of whether I am going to collect these latest figures despite my age because I think diplodocus, iguanodon, quetzalcoatlus, tarbosaurus, pachycephalosaurus and carnotaurus are worthy figures of shelves even collector's as in my case for its quality.

Nope, don't like that.

Honestly, I also don't like that vinyl Favorite carnotaurus and tarbosaurus. There are better made soft vinyl figures for children from other brands and at a much cheaper price than those two theropods from Favorite Soft Model vinyl version. I'm sticking with the Favorite Collectible Figures mentioned earlier in my previous post.

Honestly what I like most about the new 2020 Favorite Soft Model figures are their bright and vivid colors. Magnificent year for Favorite Soft Model although it could have been improved with rarer dinosaur figures on the toy market. Except for tarbosaurus, the other dinosaur figures, fortunately I am quite well known, I would have preferred darker figures, for example, Japanese dinosaurs, Fukuititan to give an example.

Flaffy

I cant help but feel a lot more effort is put into the museum exclusives compared to the regular line.

Mattyonyx

Since I started a debate about the Tarbosaurus, I feel I have to apologize. The front view shows how good it is.

These are definitely on my 2020 "acquire" list. They have the classic Favorite look, which, for me, is quite okay.

brettnj

These are now available on the Favorite site.

Taking orders for these and anything else on the site now.

Please PM if interested.

Thanks.

I was curious about the shape of the Carnotaurus's horns and it turns out they do represent something mentioned in the scientific literature.  It's described in RyKon's comment here: http://markwitton-com.blogspot.com/2017/11/can-we-predict-horn-shapes-of-fossil.html
QuoteAlthough the horn cores are rather blunt in Carnotaurus, the corneous horns might have had the same form as in bovids (i.e., with the characteristic open "U" shape), and therefore they might have been used as weapons to kill or to injure severely small preys. If this hypothesis were correct, it would represent the only known or inferred case of the use of horns to kill prey.

(I tried quoting from the paper but weirdly this would create a spelling mistake.)  I might have to get the Favorite Carnotaurus now.  I'm definitely interested in getting the Tarbosaurus, I like it so much it got me to start collecting figures smaller than 1:40.  It's also coloured like two of my favourite fruits, lemon and lime.  As well as the Carnotaurus I'm still deciding if I want the Iguanodon and Pachycephalosaurus.  The Quetzalcoatlus and Diplodocus are definite noes for me.

SidB

I'm getting all six, but do have concerns. For example, the Carno is very gracile, compared with, say, Doug Watson's powerful and substantial Safari figure. They seem to be very opposite interpretations; perhaps the Favorite is too thin/ spindly. Really glad to have the Tarbosaurus and the Diplodocus will go well with the 2004 Apatosaurus and the two Brachio's, though the color is quite the contrast. I can live with this, I believe.

Daspletodave

I have ordered all 6 from Brett. It's great to finally see annual additions to the Favorite soft model line. I hope they continue adding to the series.

I suspect that, like me, you are more than a bit of a "true believer" in this line!

austrosaurus

The Iguanodon & Quetzalcoatlus are the only ones I'd consider getting, and even then they're near the bottom of a very long list. The Tarbosaurus & Diplodocus are passable, while the colouration on the Pachy & Carnotaurus are pretty much inexcusable.
