It's been tough the last few week at my work, we have had 3 staff needing to quarantine due to exposure!
Everyday is like walking on minefield, wondering if this could be the day someone you worked closely with test positive.
We take safety seriously since it's a clinic, but you can't control what people do outside of work.

Well bad news folks. After checking my dad's oxygen levels today, they dropped down to 92-93 from a week at 95. My dad needed to be hospitalized + overnight for who knows how long. He was diagnosed with pneumonia. My mother has that as well, but the er she went to (per her doctor's request) told her it was viral and for her to deal with it at home. Her oxygen levels are good thankfully.

Honestly I am really worried about them both but of course more my dad when he is hospitalized now and I can't frequently check in on him as I had been doing. My anxiety of losing him to this is at an all time high now.


Edit: I see that they gave him an antibiotic, oxygen, and stuff for his heart. I am really hoping he can pull through.

Good news folks. My father may be coming home later today. The drugs they have given him to treat his pnuemonia and covid in general have been helping him. I read in my family's group chat that he was given a revolutionary new drug to treat the inflammation in his lungs. He has also thankfully not needed ventilation thus far. Honestly it is really relieving for me that he is doing better.


Edit: He said the drug name is Dexamethasone.

Dexamethasone isn't a new drug at all.  It's an anti-inflammatory that's been around years (for instance I used it for some months after my recent eye operation).  It is cheap and readily available - but it was discovered during the pandemic that it could be used to treat Covid.
