I remember a time when I thought we'd have an easy 2020 from PNSO, and here we are with not even everything revealed and they're already teasing 2021!

Thank you L @Leyster for all that information on Allosaurus' skull! Really was unaware about the up-to-date reconstruction of the skull.

The real funny fact is that Gilmore 1920 illustrates in the very next page of an horribly plaster restored Allosaurus skull (what was then known of USNM 4734) a picture of the restored skull of AMNH 666 (that was assigned to Antrodemus vales, now recognized as a synonim of Allosaurus fragilis) wich is way closer to the modern conception of Allosaurus's skull, but was happily ignored fror almost a century.

Wow! I have never seen this before. Do you know what happened to this skull? Crazy that it's so different from the one on the mounted AMNH specimen.

personally I don't think they're thinking about which year, they're just releasing stuff and some if it ends up 2020 and some ends up 2021. That said, its shaping up to be one of the best line ups I've ever seen.
Megalosaurus, Iguanodon, Archaeopteryx, Cetiosaurus, Compsognathus, Hadrosaurus, Brontosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, Albertosaurus, Herrerasaurus, Stenonychosaurus, Deinonychus, Maiasaura, Carnotaurus, Baryonyx, Argentinosaurus, Sinosauropteryx, Microraptor, Citipati, Mei, Tianyulong, Kulindadromeus, Zhenyuanlong, Yutyrannus, Borealopelta, Caihong

Agreed! It's getting a bit overwhelming, though in a good way, of course. Reminds me of the Carnegie surge in 1989, Battat in the mid-1990's and Safari over the last few years ... but faster, way faster. The quality is just remarkable.

'cause the AMNH mounted specimen is heavily restored and does not reflect the true shape of Allosaurus' skull. The really funny thind is that DINO 2560 was being prepared while Madsen was writing his popular monograph on Allosaurus, that features an (incorrect) composite. Had he waited a bit longer the correct shape would have spread years ago.
"Dinosaurs lived sixty five million years ago. What is left of them is fossilized in the rocks, and it is in the rock that real scientists make real discoveries. Now what John Hammond and InGen did at Jurassic Park is create genetically engineered theme park monsters, nothing more and nothing less."

Have never associated the term popular with Monograph!

Well, "popular" meaning that is a primary reference when restoring Allosaurus  ;D

A promotional image for both Zhuchengtyrannus and Allosaurus. The Zuchengtyrannus we have seen multiple times before, but it is now accompanied by the new Allosaurus! Quite excited to see what PNSO has in store for us in 2021!

You mean those are the figurine designs?

Not sure if they are figurine designs. Saw this posted on instagram. I have never seen the Allosaurus poster, and there is already confirmation of a future Allosaurus (page 1 of this thread). The Zhuchengtyrannus is kind of a mystery at the moment. Although we have gotten a blank silhouette of the figure I believe.

Actaully, the picture in that promo is of Tyrannosaurus rex originally illustrated for an AMNH exhibit. :)
Don't you hate it when you legitimately compliment someone's mustache and she gets angry with you?

RaptorRex

I also believe that is not an Allosaurus, but a Yangchuanosaurus that accompanied one of their life sized models.

Indeed it is Yangchuanosaurus ('cause the skull doesn't match Allosaurus, too).

Zhuchengtyrannosaurus and allosaurus. PNSO started with herbivorous dinosaurs and is ending the year with carnivorous theropods, what is truly strange about PNSO are ostrich and therizinosaurid dinosaurs, and dinosaurs like gigantoraptor, therizinosaurus and tsintaosaurus among other dinosaurs.

We collectors need at least one gigantoraptor and one tsintaosaurus in our collection. I'd like a scientific tsintaosaurus and a "retro" one from PNSO. I honestly like the less scientific "retro" version of Tsintaosaurus more than the scientific one.

On the other hand, I would like to buy a zhuchengtyrannus and with a decent size, I would like it to be from the Museum Line version. On the other hand the allosaurus is spectacular judging by the photograph in the PNSO ad.

PNSO stahp, stahp.

Wish it was lipped as its skull implies that it was. Otherwise it's incredible.
Most (if not all) Rebor figures are mid

Shonisaurus

Honestly, I know it's not scientific but in my case I prefer that lipless qianzhousaurus from PNSO, it's a totally cool figure. I hope its size is in my expectations as a collector. I hope it is an acceptable size. I like tyrannosauroids of the tyrannosaurus rex family with large size, without scale, my greatest wish that it is from the PNSO Line Museum collection.

Andre

Looks beautiful, but I really expected PNSO to do this one with feathers..  :(

Flaffy

Was hoping PNSO would do an Alioramus instead tbh.
A shame to see oversized scales and a lack of lips again. The seam on the back of the head is highly noticeable as well. Weird how the silhouette includes feathers, yet the figure stays completely bare.

Still a very well done figure however. Just wish that they paid more attention to the accuracy.
