Hmm interesting, Zhao posted that the new Mamenchisaurus is part of the works he did per request of Chengdu Natural History Museum curator and a paleotologis/Mamenchisaurus expert. 1:1, 1:10, 1:20, and 1:45 models were made for key highlight of the collections - Mamenchisaurus hochuanensis.

So guess we won't see a 1:35 Mamenchisaurus soon...
They can always make the next sauropod 1:35 (and not grey or at least with some stripes or pattern, please).

That is really strange. Maybe you can ask them what's going on? They replied to my messages fairly quick today.
They fixed it, must have been some problem in the system. But she was already sold out anyway. Oh well.

So this just popped on the Paleofiguras Facebook page. It's a Brachiosaurus.
And do I love it? YES! ;D
I can't tell if it has claws on all 4 of it's front toes or not, but I hope that white tint on them doesn't relate to toes. Other then that this looks amazing.

If this is really for real, that confirms it - PNSO is a steamroller. Who can compete with this tempo of output?

Looks great, and I am glad I don't collect sauropods (or at least I try not to). Good gosh darn gravy that looks beautiful.....

Edit: Also, apparently the Megalodon with an articulated jaw got a slight repaint. Saw an image on instagram, sorry for not posting it as I am currently not available to do so, but the figure now has a striped patterned to it. Looks interesting and definitely a slight improvement.

While Brachiosaurus itself is rather fragmentary compared with the more well known Giraffatitan, it would be nice to have one to go with the bulk of their Morrison formation dinosaurs. A modern take on it has been long overdo anyways.

It however does look like it has claws on the front digits if not vestigial remains of them. Not entirely sure about that, but otherwise it looks nice (their Amargasaurus suffers from a similar inaccuracy, which was added by paint, not the sculpt itself I think, but still). Also same exposed teeth like with the Mamenchisaurus. Those issues aside, it does look quite beautiful. Hopefully this one actually is 1/35 or at least 1/40. Would be nice to have this one size nicely with Eofauna's upcoming Diplodocus and/or Safari Ltd's Camarasaurus. However wasn't this the page that also showed the Edmontonia last year that as of yet never surfaced? Still disappointed by that, so I''m however a little wary here.

Granted if I had to guess this one will also be Museum line, so that could be quite a while before I'd be able to afford it anyways, if released soon.

Sorry for bringing bad news, but there is nothing that actually shows that's a new figure. That screen came from this video, and PNSO species profile tend to feature digital models. Not all of them become figures. I'm not saying there might not be a Brachiosaurus figure based on that, but at the moment there's zero proof of that. Calm down, it's not the first time Paleofiguras shares a screen hinting at a figure, but the figure has (yet) to come...

Also, the Facebook post for which these pictures are used, isn't a reveal of a new figures but discusses the choices PNSO has made when it comes to the scale of their sauropods and the complaints that PNSO has received for not doing the Mamenchisaurus in 1:35 scale.

Not sure why they didn't just use a picture of the Mamenchisaurus then.

avatar_Psittacoraptor @Psittacoraptor Ah, thank you! I used to check AE every Day, but since this all changes daily, at least it feels that way, i haven't checked that often. We'll see^^

I can't seem to access this link. I do find it very odd that this image is just kind of attached to a random critique. This account however did provide the information about PNSO's break a few months ago, and that releases would be nonstop throughout the year. Side note that picture looks like promotional images of a model, with the detail etc.

There is no clarification its very weird.

I really hope this is a real figure. I want a 1:35 Brachiosaurus to keep my W-Dragon Giraffatitan company, and this might just be it. The Nanmu Brachio looks impressive, but its nostril position bothers me too much, as silly as that sounds.

L @Leyster Thanks for providing that information. So it was perhaps a good thing that I was skeptical about this Brachiosaurus being a figure that was releasing then.

Well PNSO has stated that not all their Museum Line models will be in 1:35 scale, like the Mamenchisaurus that is in 1:45 scale. This is because some models will otherwise become to expensive.

avatar_SRF @SRF If I understand that paleofiguras FB post correctly so many supporters of their crowdfunding project complained about the scale of the Mamenchisaurus that it caused PNSO to respond. They said they want children and families to experience these figures and the large sauropods would be too expensive in 1:35, so they are changing the branding of the museum line to include smaller scale models. I'm still perplexed about this line of thought. Who's buying these 60 and 70$ dinosaur figures with sharp parts for their small children? Seems like they are either misreading their costumer base, or the Chinese customer base is different from the international one. If these figures are much cheaper in China, as avatar_Faras @Faras has shown us with the Mamenchisaurus, then maybe children or their parents are buying them. Personally, I'll be skipping any sauropod that won't scale with the other museum line models.

Edit: Their boxes even say ages 14 and up and "use only under adult supervision", which makes the marketing to children even more strange, haha.

Yes avatar_sauroid @sauroid, thank you. To me they are at least an improvement but nothing I would go out of my way to purchase for that figure.

sauroid

avatar_Bread @Bread i wasnt expecting that repaint. i thought i was getting the original gray and white version. it was a pleasant surprise.
