I like the Smok, the only nitpick I have is that the head looks a bit too..."plastic-y"?. Something about its looks a bit unnatural.

The sculpt and paint scheme look really nice though, I will most like pick this one up, together with last years lisowicia to fill my triassic shelf.

All I need now is a good new plateosaur or "prosauropod" sauropodamorph in general, somehow all major companies are either avoiding them or bungle it up *looks at PNSO Lufengosaurus*

The Paraceratherium looks great, my only nitpick here is that the contrast between the reddish fur and the grey skin looks a bit too harsh. Animal with "naturally mangy" hair usuall dont have such a strong contrast between skin and fur color.

There you go ^-^. Do you plan to repaint this particular figure A @Andysdinosaurreviews ? It'd be interesting to see the hair colour blended in with the rest of the body. Currently, it really does look like it's suffering from mange. Maybe a more exciting colour scheme like how @sinammonite (deviantart) does his Paraceratheriid reconstructions?

Wow, I had no idea this clade was this diverse! I thought we just had the two giant genera, and two or three small to medium bodied ancestors.

Shonisaurus

The pteranodon of Collecta 2022 how beautiful it is! It is perhaps not big but it is bulky despite being on all fours. I really like the texture and the paint details, it is perhaps so spectacular in its artistic workmanship to the pteranodon of the same brand from 2021. It is without a doubt a brilliant year for Collecta.

All this week, I'll be posting a brief review of the Cooperoceras to various dinosaur toy groups on Facebook.  :)

The scales feel rather oversized after watching the review. And it's not like CollectA can't do smaller scales (see their standard size ornithopod figures)

Carnoking

That pea-soup green is really killing it for me. That and the ears look a bit...off?

Hey guys,

Believe it or not, you're wrong about the scales on the neck being too big. They really were that large and we have the skin impressions that show it. Stay tuned for Saturday. ;)

Wasn't referring to the neck scales. Though am curious if the body scales are the correct size or not. Right now it gives off the corn-kernel vibe of the PNSO Tuojiangosaurus and Miragaia.
Did you receive early review copies from CollectA as well? :o

Prehistoric Kingdom E. regalis by comparison. This looks much more naturalistic to me.

The skin impressions on the body are what they're talking about if I'm not mistaken. Although there were in fact scale impressions above the pelvis that measure 50 cm in diameter, the smallest scales were millimeters wide. Even if you can't sculpt so intricately at this scale, more variation would sell it even better.
On and off dinosaur collecting phases over the span of millions of years has led me to this very forum.

Thanks for posting that reference! Yeah that is exactly what I was referring to.

CollectA's pulled off absolutely miniscule scales before, I'm confident they can do the same on a large model with more space to work with.

Fembrogon

I do recall reading recently about the variations in scale shapes and sizes on Edmontosaurus recently. I do like the level of detail on this figure's skin texture, even if it should have been finer along the body.

The green patches are definitely ugly, though.

Shrek 4 is an underrated masterpiece

It seems there is wide variation in where the crest would be, some depicting it on the head, while others (including Collecta) reconstruct it at the back of the skull and partly in the neck. This is a nice toy model by Collecta, but as usual they do something that turns me off on it, like the green colour (and the too far back crest, I think).

Honestly, after that video, I think I have fallen in love with that Edmontosaurus, the green doest bother and I think the sculpt is fantastic.

Shonisaurus

For me, this edmontosaurus from Collecta is a great figure, it is very large and that makes me like it much more. Although he is a scientific figure, I honestly like his Safari counterpart a little more, I find the figure made by Doug Watson a little more elegant (this is an appreciation of mine within my ignorance since I am a simple collector) his color tones are very beautiful although perhaps with a repaint that Collecta edmontosaurus would look much better. In any case, it is an excellent figure that I will not hesitate to buy this year. Thanks Collecta!

Hello! I've been lurking on this forum on occasion for a while now but have only really posted on here once or twice before.

Anyway, I seem to recall reading on the Everything Dinosaur blog that a version of the new CollectA Trike would be issued to be sold at the Melbourne Museum with the coloration of their Triceratops reconstruction. I was just made aware yesterday that the website for their upcoming Triceratops exhibit has gone live (https://museumsvictoria.com.au/melbournemuseum/whats-on/triceratops-fate-of-the-dinosaurs/), along with the associated Triceratops reconstruction, giving us our first preview I suppose of what that figure's color scheme will look like. It has normal scales on its frill, not the nipple scales that appear on the CollectA figure's frill, which I've been told is more accurate based on Triceratops frill skin impressions.

Edit: a better picture.

I've been posting brief reviews of some of the other CollectA toys on Facebook. Here's the Paraceratherium:

That's interesting! So it's not the same base model?

Also I love the comparison to a city streetcar.  :))

Would've preferred if CollectA based their sculpt closer to the Melbourne Museum reconstruction instead.
Not a fan of the nipple scales on the frill, and I don't think there's evidence for such integument too. (iirc frill impressions don't show the nipple-scales seen on the body)
Same goes for the Psittacosaurus-like quills. I don't really understand the reasoning behind CollectA continuously giving their derived ceratopsids this feature.
