Quote from: Blade-of-the-Moon on June 27, 2024, 07:18:42 PMGood day to be a DINOSAURS fan! Got my preorder in for Capt. Impressive and found the Tree Pusher at Target!

Was able to find Tree Pusher Earl this weekend as well.

Some interesting points:
- It's the same sculpt (with the same heads) as previous Earl, other than two new sets of hands (with gloves)
- Now that we have the lunch pail and hard hat, we can "recreate" the original Hasbro Earl figure
- The underside of the hard hat is a solid brown area molded to fit on Earl's head. If you watch the show, this is actually how the hard hats look and how they fit on the dinosaurs

That's cool. I never really looked that hard at the hard hats. lol My original figures sadly have none of their accessories and couldn't hold them if they did.

I like they added the little critters that were making out in his lunchbox too. Love the little details. I sorta wish they had included a tree but I can make one easy enough..actually thinking of using the spare head to make Tree Earl from that episode.

I didn't really notice how the hats fit in the show until I saw the NECA figure and it had that big solid brown area. Then when I was watching an episode I paid attention during the work scenes and saw that there actually is a solid brown underside; I originally thought it was just for the ease of use on the toy, but it's screen accurate.

Earl was the only one of the old Hasbro figures I had. I loved how detailed he was but it was always frustrating he couldn't hold his accessories.

But it'd be neat to see NECA do a fun repaint in "classic colors" packaged in throwback packaging with hardhat and lunchbox accessories.

My mom put the entire set on layaway at walmart for me. I had to mow and work to pay them off though. I earned my toys the hard way lol Yeah none of them could hold any of the accessories. I wish I still had them. Fran had the little critter in a clear blue cube of ice to go in her stove pot.  I can't recall what Richfield and Robble came with..Charlene had a phone I think?

Ah here we go :

They really did. I think it was to prove a point though which hit home hard, not like the last episode but hard enough.

For the time, these figures were ridiculously on-model.

Figure of Baby is freakishly large for that scale

Oh yeah the size is way off. They just made him the same as others (full size figure, two accessories).

But the sculpts, for the time, were really well done.

I almost think they are based on maquettes? In the episode where earl is capt. impressive there is a toy they make with a knife inside of it.  It looks like a model of earl in this same pose.
